IMO wehr is one of the more balanced factions. At least in team games anyway. I feel like everyone (especially OKW) should be brought in line with Ost.
They don't have too many gimp units (stormtroopers and AI panzergrens kind of suck). |
As usual, relic overnerfed yet another unit that was probably performing a little too well. I haven't seen a churchill built since. Even with the latest cost reduction I don't see it ever being made.
It shares the same terrible role with the Kv-1. A "damage sponge" that faces superior AT and shreck blobs. It spends 90% of its life being repaired, and the rest of the time it does pretty much nothing.
I propose that the churchill be limited to 1 built at a time, but give it a allied-wide aura like the Wehr Command Tank. I think it would add an interesting element to the fight, kill the churchill buffing the army or ignore the relatively harmless box of hitpoints and try to kill the buffed units first? |

As an allied player, Wehrmacht has its powerful stuff, but nothing really stands out as overpowered. Command tank aura effecting every player feels too strong though.
OKW on the other hand is way too powerful in team games.
-Forward retreat points
-Super tanks like KT and Jagdtiger that take little micro for a huge impact on the game
-A screen of shreck blobs for said super tanks, making flanking pointless, and makes using allied armor a huge risk. It's not uncommon for the OKW player to have every single unit capable of powerful anti-tank.
-Ultra fast repair speed for said super units (see a theme here?), which means when you risk your tanks to kill/damage theirs, their vehicles have almost no downtime.
I don't want to screw up 1v1 player balance. I've been thinking lately that maybe in larger game modes, units could have different costs/pop caps due to their different effectiveness in those game modes. A jagdtiger in 1v1 is a gamble, but its often a GG for all allied armor in teams.

Meanwhile OKW has the best baseline units in the game
When was the last time anyone saw counterattack being used? Before the B-4 nerf? I see valiant assault being used on volk blobs to chase down armor all the time |

Also, the common theme around here that team games can't be balanced and should be ignored in favor of 1v1 needs to go away.
There are plenty of RTS out there that are balanced in big games. Shitting on over half the playerbase is pretty short-sighted. |
