Wattage doesn't mean much, what you need to look at is the wattage on the 12V-rails.
Never compromise on the PSU, also a 430watt certified PSU is better than a 600 watt cheap one.
Thanks for your help. How can i check the wattage on the 12V-rails? |
Hi
Few months ago i bought a pc with the following specs:
Intel i7-4770 3.4ghz
Nvidia geforce 760 2gb
8gb Ram
By mistake i ordered it with a 500 watt PSU. Normally i choose 600+ . Should i get a more powerful psu to get the full potential out of the hardware or is 500 watts suffice?
Also my graphic settings are high on everything except AA on low. I was disapointed i couldnt run the game maxxed out and wondered if it should be possible with my setup.
Thanks for your help! |
fantastic guide, as usual, very helpful!
Aswell as this strat, i have also in the past used your airborne (in before the blitz)strat. As i mainly play 2vs2 with a Russian counterpart, do you think one strat should be used instead of another? for example; if your facing double OKW choose the airbourne strat or vice versa?
Or does it largely depend on personal taste and play style? im always torn between which strat i should use, as i like both ^^ |
Very interesting strat. I haven't tried it out yet but i too prefer an infantry heavier strat the same reason you do.
How is the resource conversion ability ? Sounds fun having a munitions heavy game especially in 2vs2, could still make fuel caches to share with your teammate for a tank heavy game then simply convert the rest of yours into munitions for extra mines, arty, nades, shreks etc. |
Myself and my partner have recently decided to play more double ostheer as we both prefer playing as them.
We are struggling to create a BO and strategy that works effectivly. Are there any BO's and startegys you recommend? We are both fairly defensive players. But seem to eventually get over run by the russian and american hoards!
Also which commanders best work well together and what maps are best to veto?
Any help is appritiated. Thank you! |
Penals should be 270 manpower if I am not very mistaken. As for their viability, in their present state I would not use them as a mainstay infantry in lieu of conscripts. However, on constrained maps, they are a good choice, as they do alot of short-medium range dps. The satchel can be very useful for getting squadwipes against weapon teams, especially mgs in buildings. Always get the flamer if you can.
cheers for the info mate, the reason im asking is while i play 2vs2 mid - late game conscripts seem to get mown down before they can even get in some decent cover and wondered if penal battalion was the solution or not.

Just wondering if you can share your thoughts on the T1 unit the penal battlion:
- Are they worth getting for their 360/30 manpower compared to conscripts 240/20 manpower?
- is the flamethrower upgrade a necessity?
- When would you build a Penal Battalion?

hi
i have been trying to get it so my company of heroes audio can come through my headphones plugged into the front of my computer, while everything else is played through my speakers, plugged into the back.
I have tried IndieVolume which can choose the audio output of a program, but it didn't seem to work when i told my CoH to go through my headphones.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how to make it work?
thanks! |
Ghostball - no problem mate, feel free to add me on steam (syk08024966) aswell.
Ive started writing up a build order, based on what partisan and sarantini have said but its not tested in game yet.
When ive got time ill watch that replay aswell!

One of the more common plays I see in my community when it comes to US + Soviet is the Maxim + Medic Truck Combo. When paired together, you can have maxim teams (2-3) lock down areas and still move from one spot to another rather quickly. Axis infantry are strong, but are still susceptible to heavy suppression of overlaying MG sprays.
By aggressively pushing your maxim line forward, coupled with hospital truck and rifle squad, you can advance your front line and gain resource. Normal infantry will have to force retreat due to suppression and MG42 set up to hinder your front lines will still have trouble dealing with the US rifle horde that can outflank them. Maxim lockdowns are hard to flank because of their fast set-up time so it makes the tactics decently effective. The additional resource you gain from early win could mean early tech and therefore get armor before your opponent. If your opponent is really behind, you can literally get a tank and drive it into their base, and they can't do anything about it because they simply can't afford the tech upgrade because of either manpower bleed due to Maxim sprays or little oil from early loss (of course, this must mean your opponent isn't very experienced in this game yet). The major weakness of this tactics is the weak AT or AB(anti-building). If the opponent manages to squeeze out a good armor vehicle (222 with cannon upgrade) and just kite your infantry, it could mean serious manpower bleed. Smart placement of a HMG bunker could also seriously hinder the advancement of your troops. So for this tactics to work to its full effect, you must make sure to push your forces forward quickly to avoid opponents having enough time to react.
I've still yet to play enough games to be confident in my recommendation, but this is sort of a norm I see in my community. I thought it might be helpful to let you know, considering how this tactics does not require any specific commander.
Thanks for the advice partisan! are there any replays you know of that can show this 'tactic' in action?
Also just been reading through the latest patch notes, do you think getting the american AA is still viable? |
