Soviet mark target and the Command panther equivalent are pretty BS. One click abilities with no counterplay that let you melt enemy tanks. They need to change it to a cheaper accuracy buff ability, with readjusted costs; the damage buff is too powerful when combined with other AT sources.
I don't think the Command Panther is OP, but the concept of mark target needs rework along with the Command Panther now that it can't crutch on it.
It's still fun in team games. Spam muni caches and abuse the arty ability in the FoW to beat up OKW bases. Anvil tactics let's your base arty wreck infantry.
The valentine is actually pretty good, it has very high mobility and can crush very very well. It also gets map hacks.
The Suxton still Sux, but it's still a howitzer. Standing in the fire will still get you fucked up.
EA was a decent company when it was founded also. The almost inevitable evolution in game software companies is they start with a passion for making great games in their particular genre. Have some success, expand, then marketing, share prices, bonuses, targets, overheads, takeovers, publishers etc invade the creative process eventually leading to cash cow repetitive games, DLC bloat, P2W mechanics etc.
It's like that with everything in life, really.
Law of entropy, and of course no easy way to put it back without massive core changes.
The problem with the pershing is that it's incredibly easy for USF to skip t4 and stay on t3 with the stuart, and get a pershing very soon after the axis factions can get their first medium tank which will be completely outclassed.
Hopefully the light vehicle changes will make this more difficult.
