On OKW, currently I run with Special Operations for the command panther, avoiding T4 (maybe lategame for obersoldaten and tank destroyer).
My loadout further includes Fortification (PAK emplacement against brits) and Luftwaffe for Fallschirmjäger.
From the DLC commanders Scavenge was until preciously the only OKW 'must-buy', but does not fare too well in the current meta.

Playing some random 2v2 recently, I wonder what commander and strategy you would recommend?
So far I tried Special Weapons and Vanguard, as the Crocodiles offer add. late game armor, but found it hard to not be overrun by massed medium armor on the way.
What has worked for you so far in the new patch? |
Thank you CartoonVillain.
Regarding build orders, I found UKF the most trouble. Tried out T1 double Leig, but never did enough.
Now I go volks - kübel - volks volks into Luchs, and if he digs in Stuka zu Fuss to battle his emplacements, or Puma to battle AEC. Any advice there? |
Hi, I am playing mostly 1v1 and 2v2, and recently started playing OKW. I own the Feuersturm and the Overwatch commander from warspoils, but found both not very helpfull so far. Started playing with Special Operations, but waiting for command panther and still needing T4 for Obers to arm up seems clunky.
Before OKW, I played a lot of Ostheer and UKF, hence my playstyle tends more towards team weapons and waiting out for late game.
With OKW I struggle now with the following points:
1. which commanders to load, and use in which situation
2. what bulletins are useful (currently maxed out on Volks)
3. which general build-order beyond 3x volks or kübelwagen + 2x volks against which faction
4. what to look out for and how to counter (a) UKF emplacement spam, b) US riflespam + mortars c) Soviet heavy mortar into T76-85, ...)
Would be great if u could help be getting a better orientation =) |
Thanks, these are great suggestions.
Do you always go Royal Enginerr when playing emplcement heavey? Or are other commanders complementing this strategy as well? |
I wonder how to play UKF to its full potential.
Seems to be quite hard as there are very view casts with UKF around, people seem to prefer US these days. I would like to start a discussion on viable UKF strategies, and what are current challenges to the faction.
Following OCF, the main strat seems to be to rush T3:
T1 IS - IS - Vickers
T2 Sniper - Engineer - 17 Pounder
T3 Centaur or Cromwell as shock unit
I observe now that everyone seems to expect this UKF play, with following counterplays
1. G43 spam (either on grenardiers or panzerfusiliers) to fight british infantry and sniper
2. LEIG or mortar spam to dislodge UKF team weapons in the mid game
3. rush to P4, hardcounter centaur together with PAK (OH), or Jagd-P4 followed by Panther (OKW)
What is the usual strat you try to pull off as UKF?
What counterplays do you face most often?
How do you adapt to these? |

I still prefer the Centaur over Cromwell as my first tank. It still works in his role of discouraging inf blobs. Cromwell here does too little for me in fighting infantery to be a replacement.
Supression would be a great idea, like the doctrinal flak tank from PE in the initial COH. |
Thanks for the great guide.
Again a question for the UKF player - which T3 armor do you chose to field first? I still pick centaur, and have not yet succeeded in putting cromwells to much use. Would like to have your view on british armor? |
+1
Great way things a progressing! It is fun playing CoH 2 again. |
thanks, Esxile.
I had the same impression when trying it out - why does the MG dodge has not even light suppression?
Just wondered if I missed anything. |
