I don't know, conspam is really iffy. That game we just played u lost all your cons in first 5 mins. Then I lost all my grens to shocks in next 5 mins lol.
If I lose as Ostheer it's cuz of combined Sov arms, especially mortar wiping stuff. But then I discovered mortar HT. And if they go maxims I probably go double mortar. So then they go back to conspamming...Sigh.
I think...super clever sniper play is next meta.

It's...interesting. But like everyone says too much green cover in very strange locations. Like bunched up around corners of ruined buildings and such. It does seem better for Sovs because the green cover keeps cons from getting shredded as much by LMGs, penals do well here.
I agree S-Mines are an issue because of the color scheme. You can put them on the strat points near the bases and sometimes the signs appear in the building textures.

They're still dependent on RNG. Some games I wipe everything and it vets up, making it wipe more, some games I get 3 kills. |
You know what would be cool? Global SVT upgrade for conscripts, and let penals upgrade to bazookas. Not my idea but BananainPajamas is too lazy to post so I'm just going to mention I like it.

Honestly I would just go straight for 1v1...The ELO stuff works pretty well but during times when there are few players on you will hit the top 100 I-play-24/7 crowd.
Pace is actually slower in 1v1 and is better practice...In 4v4s you won't be micro-ing as many units nor really being able to exploit the map because 4v4s are support weapon strangleholds. |

Think twice ya'll about driving into the enemy base and suiciding something...At this point I'm rather certain there is a 50% chance of abandonment in base sectors rather than the much lower normal probability elsewhere.

The mortar decimation was not limited to my opponent. Watch carefully for it one-shotting the huge building in the west, which my guards squad was parked in. That structure did not get the memo about not insta-collapsing when the first shell hits it! |
They feel about right actually. The increased micro requirements have made the game more challenging and serious.
What's not right is that Ostheer generally didn't have their skill cap increased, rather one could say the long-range DPS increases lowered it for the most part. What's difficult with Ostheer remains the same as it ever was, dealing with snipers, beating super Maxim micro, and having squads one-shotted by various stuff. So those frustrations are there, but as far as actually microing your units, it's a big yawn. If you use a lot of cars, that can get a bit fun and micro-y, but other than that it's yawn, move all stuff here, set up in cover, shoot things, faust things if they get in range, wait for some tanks to propel you to victory. It was quite the reverse of the last patch where you had to constantly dodge molotovs, be super careful with MGs (I saw someone use one today - true story!), etc.
So rather than nerfing Germans again, how about we think of some creative ways to increase the Ostheer skill cap?
