As such we cannot make a ruling against it. Whilst we recognize it will be considered poor fair play it doesn't change previous gameplay. We will however bring it up for future tournaments. Thread: Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexievitj. 8 Oct 2015, 20:36 PM So she just won the Nobel Prize in literature. If you haven't gotten the chance to read her books I strongly suggest you do. She gives a very personal and "civilian" face to the war. Extempt from OOBs and movements of divisions. But rather have a very good touch with how WW2 affected the humans and how the humans affected the war. What I know is that "The Unwomanly Face of War" is a must read for anyone interested in the war in the East. But do try to get one of the more updated versions. The things published before 1991 are very much edited. Other WW2 writings are The Last Witnesses: the Book of Unchildlike Stories. That deals with the children in WW2 in the east. But I am unsure as to its availability in engish. She has more books about life and death in the USSR that are great to get an 'inside' look into "homo sovieticum" and an interesting read overall. Thoughts if you have read it? Thoughts about a person that writes history getting a Nobel Prize? In: The Library

There was nothing disastrous about soviet doctrine, if anything the aplication of it was sometimes iffy. Especially in 1941-42. OFF-TOPIC Are you perhaps mentioning (at least in part) the soviets changing from having many different types of tanks in their armored formations to doing a more exclusive model? (Not mixing T-34s and KV tanks in the same formation) I came to think of it and I remember reading about it in passing in many books covering aspects of soviet industry or armored warfare, but I have been looking for a more in depth writing on the development on soviet tactical and operational ideas during the war, could you perhaps point me in the right direction? Popular history (of the TV kind) which unfortunately seems to have a large impact on the histography of the general public always seems to neglect that oh so important training of the crews. Now I do not dare speak about British or American training, I simply do not have the knowledge. But looking at the Russian and German methods of training (up to the fall of 1944) the difference is staggering. Compare the good combat ranges with moving targets at Panzerschule 1 with the haphazard training at the Soviets training regiments and I suspect the "paradox" of the Soviets having quite good tanks but still staggering looses shouldn't come as a surprise.
