Maybe. Most idiots and droppers play 4v4. So those idiots would just move to 3v3. Now that idiot would reduce your overall team strength from 75% to 66%. Statistically, the more people, the stronger your overall team strength should be. Bad players and team balance should be more even with more players?
Besides all that, I would rather play 8v8 than 4v4 The more carnage and chaos the better! The best part of COH (and hopefully AOE4) is controlling large armies and actually feeling like you are managing and seeing what each unit is doing. So giant late game pushes are the payoff for some of us. Cute little flanks and cheese abilities do nothing for me. I want to see walls of death crashing into each other to then be wiped off the face of the earth with some nuke like bombs!

Better netcode.
1. At the moment, all players with the best computers have to wait in the loading screen for guys with a potato-pc. There should be an adequate timer, like 30 seconds to load the map, and then game starts. Who is not ready then has to begin later.
2. If a player is not able to load the game correctly or drops, only he should drop and not give a defeat to the other side team, or make the game not starting (map stays unreaveled and then defeat is coming).
3. No bugplats. There are the moment 2,3 mio bugsplats, only the reported ones, could be like 10 mio unreported. |
Also that Wehrmacht and okw is always mosted pick. In the middle is soviet; and brit and USA is less.
They are most picked, because there are only 2 axis factions and 3 allied. Imagine there would be only 1 axis faction, the "Wehrmacht", and 3 allied opponents. Stats after 1000 games would be something like "Wehrmacht played 1000 times, brits 300, usf 300 and soviets 400" |
The ability of deconstruct emplacements is alreay a huge buff.
In bigger teamgames, areas are often denied for long time, when a brit is setting up his sim city there.
One possibiliy atm is, to just leave it alone and fight somewhere else on the map, where the emplacements have no effects, so the ukf player, who decided to play in this style, is tied to his manpower and can only operate with a smaller mobile army.
So giving ressources back after deconstruction, would even be a hugher buff. |

Gotta add tho that lower performance in ostheer and soviet factions might be due to most new players having access to only these two, while dlc nations consist more dedicated, experienced players.
When you watch the graphs, and not only read the summary, you can see, that they are segmented from top players until unranked and everywhere is the same result.
New players are not in top 1%. |
Kirrik is just mad, that he can't "yolo" with his inf blob into an ostwind anymore.
As Wehr player, when I faced an centaur with my infantry, it was always the "end of they story", needed some other unit to support the attack, like Stug or AT-gun to push it back.
Ostwind was always easily pushed back by inf with 1 bazooka, because it killed only very few models when kiting or missed completely on the move, while Centaur killed chasing units in 2 bursts.
Now, where Ostwind has finally the same abilities, this guy seems to have problems to adapt. |
