start at 1 hour in to hear the official red army decree

'The hour of revenge has struck,
do not count days,
do not count miles,
count only the number of Germans you have killed
Kill the German
this is the cry of your Russian Earth,
Kill the German'

those soviets were PISSED!
crazy shit.

Do your Soviet faction honor, against suspected LMG gren spam or Assgrens, build T2 immediately with your engineer while you make one conscript squad. This will slow your map control but soviets have the upper hand here anyway, the worst that will happen is you will be on even terms with the germans. Use your conscript to start capping and you engineer as well once the building is complete. Then start making maxims. Our conscripts are too weak and thier upgrades cost too much fuel to slow us down. Make 2-3 maxims then make another conscript squad and research the AT nade if need be, or, if not taking any loses and can afford the manpower, make an AT gun instead to speed up your tank production. Lock down your side of the map and your fuel point immediately, take advantage of your maxims extremely quick set up and surpression time. It suppresses multiple squads faster and at greater range than the MG42 now. Keep the german grens at bay with these as your conscripts cap the map and back them up. Once you have the fuel, go for the quick t70 or if things arent going as planned, skip the t70 and go straight for t34. If your opponent decides to waste the fuel and munitions on a flame halftrack or scout cars, call in the Gaurds Rifles to keep them at bay until your tanks come out. Spam the t34's to death, keep 3 maxims and 2 conscripts on field at all times. Win the game. Make an AT gun if needed, use ram every single time you can against german armor. For the Red Army!

this strategy always does me right.

heres my card http://www.coh2.org/ladders/playercard/steamid/76561198096023775

heres it in action against a top 100 german player.

I don't think it's quite Official Red Army Decree. IIRC those words are actually by the journalist Ilya Ehrenburg...

Oh, Gosh - please stop demonizing Russians. "Kill the German" was a poem written by Soviet journalist Ilia Erenburg. These words were written during summer of 1942, hardest time of war for USSR.

There were no German civilians in USSR in 1942, only German soldiers. So these words were about hate to German soldiers not civilians. Funny that this video shows Goebbels's propaganda. You can find Soviet analogues of showing German crimes on Youtube but I think you won't find it interesting - I can't understand how people may regret about German civilians and don't matter about Soviet civilians who suffered of Germans. Double standards, my ass.

I don't give a crap about the Germans in WW2, they collectively wanted it so they collectively got it. Russia didn't ask to be invaded and the Germans could have surrendered anytime. Nazis won the March 1933 elections, they didn't seize power in Germany.

So much hate. Calling every German an evil person for what happened is bullocks. Was every Russian soldier a true communist? Did every Englishman want the morale bombing?

If you think in those categories, you will only spread hate.

You might not believe it, but there actually were Germans who got conscripted into the war.

From wikipedia: "1935 conscription was reintroduced in the German Reich: Since then conscientious objectors were threatened with heavy prison sentences - usually detention in a concentration camp - and holding their refusal would result in the death penalty."

A sad thing that after almost 70 years, there seems to be so much hate towards each other. Don´t get me wrong: We shouldn´t forget what happened but seeing the content and attitude of some posts is just beyond me.

I'm sorry if you felt offended by my remark, I certainly don't hate Germans or anyone else for that matter, I certainly don't think Germans are evil people not even Hitler to be honest, but 27 million Russians died, think about that figure for a minute.

That level of murder cant be glossed over, I hear to many excuses made, I don't blame todays Germans at all for WW2 and I think they are the least likely people to cause anything like it again.

I'm British and we certainly aren't clean as far as War murder and mayhem are concerned, But I'm the first to admit it.

We built an empire on bullying people militarily weaker than ourselves.

Its not hate, its just frustration that I feel sometimes Russians are treated as untermensch even today by all western Nations.

I apologise if you felt offended.

GenMe: Dont worry, the Soviets where responsible for even more murder, numerically, as well as in terms of total years of oppression and persecution, both on the front and in occupied territories as well as domestically, than where the Nazis.

Both states where as bad.
Neither should be defended or celebrated by anyone with even a scrap of morality.

You can lay your conscience to rest on that.

People really need to get over making differences between countries/races.

We are all human and morally judging a specific set of peoples is ridiculous.

Nationalism was massive everywhere at this point in history and it goes a long way to explain the atrocities committed by ALL sides (and those continuing today...)

Nationalism paired with a surge in interst in Darwinism/Occultism explains the birth of Nazism. The ideas of "racial hygiene" came way before Hitler or Goebbels

On topic... :D I find 2 cons then 2 maxims and a mortar works pretty well on most maps

Yes, unfortunately at this time in history, eugenics was considered a cutting-edge and valid science, and that it was physical fact that the "races" where different.

Not just in Germany, literally everywhere. It was the "in" thing.

Furthermore, most of these nations where still in throes of post-industrialism with unfair representation and terrible working conditions for workers, which led to a strong fear of Communism as workers strove to organise themselves to better their lots, whereas industrialists strove to keep their priviledges.

In the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of China (CPC), the attitude towards Capitalism, was ofc the inverse, but equally vehement, and they wanted to internationalise the Communist movement throughout the world, as well as rid their own population of anyone who would resist that. And did so at horrific cost to human lives, even as Nazi Germany and Italy where doing the same, but for superficially different ideological reasons.

Pretty fucked up period, globally, and difficult to imagine the mindset of this period for someone in this modern day and age.

But its remarkable how many agendas most of these nations actually shared, in terms of eugenics, expansion and internal violent suppression of dissidents. They went about them in largely the same way too, even though their ideologies are esseential opposites of each other.

Yes and not just races but also people who were seen as inferior in other ways. In America for example; criminals, mentally ill people or even those with a low IQ were sterilised in the hope of allowing the human race to "evolve".

This is the most important lesson that should be learnt from the outcome of WW2. However, their ideologies only differ in that the Fascists allowed some capitalism where as the Communists had total State control. The highly ironic thing about the whole war is how similar they ultimately are!

Also what most people don't think about is how the socialist intellectuals skipped from Germany to Russia to America over the course of a century, shaping and influencing modern day Western education and cultural opinion as they went

Honestly, you had two empires next to each other rapidly industrialising themselves and modernising their militaries, both relied on blind nationalism and an oppressive central government, led by brutal men who who ordered the deaths of others, and both invaded or annexed the weaker nations around them. Neither side was really good, the eastern front was essentially 2 bad guys fighting each other. If you want "good guys", look toward the Western Allies, it's as close as you'll get.

And even if Germany didn't invade the USSR when they did, there's reason to believe that Stalin had his own plans for a future invasion of Germany. It would have been an honest to god miracle if they hadn't started fighting each other.
