informative video of the rise of the third reich from the eyes of germans, without allied bias. (somewhat)

hate em or not they were the most powerful and sophisticated army the world had ever seen. Kind of like America today...

Whats crazy is about at 27:00 mins in, it goes into how the German parlament was burnt down, and the government blamed communists (terrorists), and invented the threat. And used it to pass laws that they can now tap phones, open letters, and invade privacy........

...... just like today...... in america... The NSA.

all so familiar.

I just cant beleive the parts about how they were breeding the children in the youth camps and making the arian super race... and sterilizing all non arians in germany.

If you really want an awesome documentary, watch "the Wehrmacht". It's crazy and makes you feel bad for the vanquished army.

Perhaps OT, but perhaps on the documentary trail. Listen to "Ghosts of the ostfront" from Dan Carlin. 4 part podcast about the war on the eastfront.

I was taughtthis stuff already 15yrs ago in highschool. Im a bit shocked and surprised its apparently not standard part of history curriculum elsewhere too.

Hitler was the epitomy of an opportunistic politician, and the way in which the NSDAP engineered its rise was anything but "legal". From strong arming opposing parties with the SA (Brownshirts) to vote rigging, to policing the voting booths, to burning the Reichstag. They didnt have actual majority support, they just made it seem they did, and violently suppressed anyone who questioned that. They took full advantage of the new "democracy" Germany had, in name atleast, and used it against itself.

Ironically, almost the exact same thing happened on the part of the Bolsheviks in Russia during and after the Russian Revolution. The Bolsheviks never had a majority, instead they violently suppressed and attacked opposing parties, even going so far as to murder the entire Tsarist family. Eventually, through deliberate political and violent machinations, Stalin (whos name wasnt even Stalin), rose to the head of the Revolution, against Lenins wishes and after eliminating Trosky, Mensheviks and any White elements as counter-revolutionaries. The title "Stalin" is artificial a moniker as Der Fuhrer was ro Hitler, or Il Duce to Mussolini. Make no mistake. The Bolsheviks where as illegal, violent and non-representative a faction in Revolutionary Russia, as the NSDAP was in Germany (whom btw, didnt ever refer to themselves as "Nazis", despite populsr misconception).

Same shit in Italy with Mussolini and the Fascists. Same thing in Japan with imperialists turning the Emperor into their puppet figurehead, same thing in China with Mao eliminating all opposition with extreme violent prejudice.

This whole period of history carries the same repeating pattern all over the world.
