If the forums have a search I can't find it, so apologies in advance if this is a duplicate query.
Time for a fresh install of Win7. My Steam directory is on an external drive. Steam Cloud (such as it is) is running fine. Do I just need to copy out the My Docs/Games/COH2 directory and plug it back in when I'm done to keep everything?
I would hate to have to grab all the bulletins and medals again and remember in the early days someone mentioning they'd lost theirs after a reformat/backup.
Any advice or an official nod would be great.

I don't know if it'll be enough but I'd definitely grab the whole
Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2
directory as well as the whole game (just so you don't need to download everything again).
You also should make sure that you have uploaded the files to the Steam Cloud.
I recently was using another machine for 2 weeks or so and I think I didn't have the bulletins at first although I copied the whole My Games\CoH2 folder. But maybe I accidentally overwrit it with the (very old) file from the Steam Cloud, which didn't have my bulletins either. So I had to stop by my normal machine and made another copy of it as well as made sure to upload it to the Steam Cloud. After that I could download it to that machine, which worked...
however, no guarantess at all. Bulletins being saved locally really isn't a good thing although I guess it was my own fault for turning off cloud saving.

In case other people want/need to do this, here is how I did it successfully :
1) My Steam directory with the game is on a separate HD.
2) End COH2, let Steam Cloud sync.
3) Copy entire My Docs/My Games/COH2 folder somewhere safe.
4) Reformat. Reinstall. Etc.
5) Load Steam, sign in. Wait a few seconds for it to just put things where they should be.
6) Quit Steam.
7) Paste COH2 folder back into mydocs/mygames
8) Load COH2. It does a "first install" thing, but all the medals and bulletins are exactly as before.
Tada.
Hope it helps.
