Played about 6 hours since I got it last night and within like 3 missions it was really obvious the characters are a lot better this time around. Huge upgrade from dull Niko and his fat ass cousin.

Driving is better, I agree. It's still not a driving game, so when put up against something like Need For Speed: Most Wanted it's not as good, but it's serviceable and usually fun.

I've played about 3 hours and the only bad thing I can say is that Rockstar really likes giving annoying missions at times. I want to be running around doing awesome stuff but I got roped into a side quest to work as a tow truck driver which was quite frustrating.

lol ikr I just finished one of those. If that crackhead asks me to do it for a 3rd time I'm going to do the world a favor and introduce her to Mr. 9mm :)

CJ/Frankin (black) and Niko (East European) has their different style of humor, I don't think Niko is dull

Still didn't reach the psychopath Trevor, looking forward :P

I like Franklin

Otherwise, I find this game boring/samey. I give it a 7/10 for consistency. At least with GTA you can never worry about the experience changing for the worse and know what you can expect with each title.

It's so good, so good. The cars are fun to drive and there aren't cops patrolling everywhere, which means you can actually steal a car one without immediately getting into a high-speed chase every single time. (Am I the only one that just took taxis everywhere in GTA4?)
Unlike GTA4, you don't have to play through ten missions before you get your first gun, and, once you do get a gun, it actually feels useful.
There are mid-mission checkpoints (like in Grand Theft Horse Red Dead Redemption), which cuts down on the frustration enormously. Oh, and you can finally quick save.
Also, I thought that the multiple protagonists shtick was going to be pointless... until I ended up way the hell out in the middle of nowhere on top of a windmill with Michael and no vehicle. "Crap. It's going to take 15 minutes just to walk to the nearest road," I thought. And then I just switched to Franklin and was back a-stealing and a-shooting with just a couple seconds of transition time.

I want more Lamar!
