So, due to popular request, I'm trying to figure out the best way to add the MG34 to the eastern front without sacrificing too much Polish kappa PLPL . The problem is there is no voiceline for the MG34. The MG42 currently has a 50/50 chance to say: "Heavy machine gun team" or "MG42 team" which unfortunately cannot be separated as they are part of the same sound file AFAIK (Please let me know if it can be done!). I've come up with a number of solutions:

1) Keep the MG42 voices as is :guyokay:

2) Insert a generic unit voice via sound actions

3) For this unit, use OKW announcer to play MG34-specific call-in lines via sound actions

Tangentially related is the Grenadier's LMG42 upgrade. Should this be left alone or should it also get the MG34 + generic voice line treatment?

Or would everyone prefer original, specific voices for maximum polish?

I'd say it depends on the mod you're making. If it's a major rework of the Ostheer into a faction using mostly early-war equipment, you should definitely go with the MG34 for consistency. If, however, you're planning on leaving the rest of the faction mostly as it is in the vanilla game, I'd keep the MG42 because of the voice lines. The Ostheer has so much late-war equipment (G43, StG44, Panzerschreck, Panther, Ostwind, Brummbär, Elefant, etc.) that the MG42 fits in without a problem.
