In that case I think it should retain your elo at the start of the new season, but reset your w/l.

I am pretty sure some will point to the fact that you can save your games and do it that way tho.

not same, and it's not that simple to look up other people since their in-game name and steam name may not be the same..

AFAIK, the first 20 games count for more Elo than subsequent ones. A new player just starting would lose a lot of those and be dropped very low - thus requiring more games to climb up.

It could always be done so that at the beginning of each season the Elo is bell-curved to an average - not a complete reset but still a toning down.

And yeah, a recent matches list would be nice so I can see what the opponent's rank on the ladder was after a game.
