In my mod, I'm looking into adding a veteran ability to Ostfront Sturmpioneers. Interestingly, Pioneers had a Mark Target voiceline. However, I'm having trouble interpreting the implications of this ability. The line ,"Mark that enemy objective" has gotten me thinking. "Enemy objective" confuses me greatly; is it supposed to mean mark something that the enemy considers as an objective, such as a friendly point? Or does this mean designate an enemy point as the objective? Was this orignally supposed to target a unit like all the other Mark Target instances in the game? What would be the most interesting choice gameplay wise, and what would make the most sense?
I also have no idea what the ability speech codes for that one should look like.

Well, its completely up to you, as no such ability for reference exists in the game. Seeing that other german infantry have similar unused lines, it could have been similar to the mark target ability that is used, but unit-issued rather than a commander ability.
Some other abilities like camouflage nets at least had a concept, and were later tweaked around for things like the AT gun camo.
I used it for a light recon package that gives a scout ability at the cost of build speed, as, like you said, the "objective" part could mean anything.

CMO is Ambush Camouflage. Apparently Ambush Camo used to be modal abilities before it was a made into a passive.

None in the vanilla game. The point of this thread was to come up with the most creative ways to implement the Mark Target voiceline in a mod.

I was looked up the voice lines for the codes in the Archive Viewer. I tested out by giving the pioneers a cloned volley fire. I will safely say this voice line can be triggered with any targeted ability. I am not sure about toggled, passive, or timed abilities.
