Pls somebody do vodoo to mod team so they make such change.


Too bad that's the m8 greyhound.

Now that the mod team has worked on the greyhound, the m8 is pretty locked in and any overlap with the m20 is tough beans.

And the m8 could never be stock because coh1.

Most solutions to CoH2 have been locked out as options because of coh1 or because they would require revisiting/reversing past decisions.

I think its stil REALLY good if done properly. Use it as a shock unit. Get it out in under 5min mark or dont.

If you go for early mortar (wich is a mistake as USF imo) you can get it nice and early.

Maybe watch some old DevM replays or his guide.

The unit is fine as is. No need to do anything different. It has a good shock value, but also works great if you DON'T use it on the front lines and just silently lay mines all over the place

I don't see a problem with it's role. It is the best counter to wehr sniper, you can use it behind your rifles to increase the dps and win engagements more often and then you can place those really good mines on key points specially where you fear a flank or rush, those really save your ass because the tank won't be able to move anywhere so it's basically a guaranteed kill.

Maybe increase the fuel to 30 and decrease manpower to 300. Other than that I don't see any problem with this unit, don't change things that are alright at the moment.

These exact changes were tried out in the old Winter Balance Preview.

M20 (LIGHT VEHICLES)
We wanted to make the M20 more accessible but also make its interaction with the 222 more consistent while lower its close range damage to limit its effectiveness at diving after support weapons and infantry on retreat. We also felt that the M20 vets up too slowly and without enough bonuses.

Manpower cost reduced from 340 to 240
Crew no longer start with Bazooka, it now must be upgraded
Veterancy requirements lowered from 880/1760/3520 to 500/1000/2000
50cal accuracy reduced from 0.75/0.475/0.2 to 0.45/0.33/0.25
50cal accuracy increases with veterancy: +10%/+15%/+15%
Hold fire added
Maximum health increased by 20HP at Veterancy 3.

It was an absolute pleasure to build and use but then Relic wussed out and only included the Hold-Fire change, which is a good QoL change don't get me wrong.

I built one last week in a 2v2 and got it Vet3. Maybe it's just L2P issue? Just like how Jackson was fine but noobs didn't know how to micro a glass cannon and now it's the best tank ever for no reason other than people need to L2P. Hans said exact same thing on stream the other day. Just sad that people whine more than they play. I also never had issues using old Jackson and never had issues with M20. Use it for its stengths. Kite infantry, flank crew weapons, plant mines to bait vehicles, and stop rushing it into grens, getting fausted, then dying to 222 and crying on forums about how bad the unit is.

In all seriousness, the luchs gets camo with vet, so it's not like it'd be horrendously broken or something. IDK if it would be a perfectly balanced or "good" change, or if it is needed, but it'd sure be cool IMO.

It basically has non doc riegel mines... Its one of the units that is super worth getting mid/late game.
