would it be viable to make trending open in another tab/window? I keep forgettin it and need to spam the "back" button constantly...
isn't it meant to not navigate ppl away from coh2.org doin' this?

We've fought over this issue many times. The devs are at odds, I'm afraid. While I'd prefer people never leave coh2.org, seb and hicksi (our lead developers) are adamant about leaving "browser control" to the users.
Honesty it shouldn't even be an argument. We've added a "open links in new tabs" option to your user menu, we just haven't been diligent about adding it to the code. This is simply because we would need to selectively add it to every href in the code, and there are quite a few!
But more posts like this will bump it in our to-do list.
