Here is for all of you who might have questions how and with what to run coh2 at full or maxed out.

http://www.techspot.com/review/689-company-of-heroes-2-performance/page3.html

As you can see this game HORRIBLY bad of being optimized..... as you can see a GTX TITAN (1000 Euro card) ONLY gets 45 FPS!!! WTF!

*edit* AND that was on 1680 x 1050............ and at 1920 x1200 a TITAN only gets 39 FPS........

Who made this game?

The optimization in this game is appalling, to say the least. I have a 4x3.2 GHz i7, a GT 630M(Which is mid-high end, hardly great but still good), 8 gigs of RAM and I'm less than 40 frames on a 1366x768 resolution, on ABSOLUTE MINIMUM. The only thing I don't have on minimum is game resolution which is on 66% instead of the lowest option.

I find that absolutely ridiculous. It's not a top end rig by any means, due to the GPU, but I manage to run extremely demanding games on higher frames. It's not like CoH2 has taken leaps and bounds in graphics improvements since CoH1 or DoW2.

This games graphics is not mind blowing like crysis 2/3, hell - are they saying that coh2 is more demanding grapicaly than Metro 2033??

Metro 2033 + GTX Titan x 1920 x 1200 = 45.2 FPS

Coh2 + GTX Titan x 1920 x 1200 = 39 FPS!!!

umm im pretty sure every strategy game is more demanding than any other game...and the thing with metro is , its great (big fan, books and games) but its not as demanding as coh2 cuz its mostly going on in dark tunnels and in dimmed lighting which and it doesnt requre much frames there
btw im running not very good rig
e5400 2.6g , 3gb ram and Ati HD5670 with 30-25 frames on high (AA low) and is nicely playable
+30 frames is very fluid, damn it consoles run everything on 30frames and no1 complans after they get used to it

Strange, I can run the game maxed at 60 FPS.

However, I normally turn AA down to low as I don't think you need it any higher.

I am saying that coh2 is SO FAR one of the MOST demanding games out there - or more than likely - its SHIT optimized.

If even the most powerfull single GPU card cant get more than 45.2 FPS maxing the game out... then that is sad.

And if we go as far as they guys having a 2560 x 1600 monitor then they have 25 FPS...

Are you saying that coh 2 is SO spectacular to justify these CRAP scores?

I am talking about maxing out the game as much as possible - just not optimized well enough.

Yes horribel optimization. There's so many things that makes the final game feel like an Alpha. Game balance, optimization, the graphix in the meny...

Anyway Im supprized and utterly glad that i can run 30 fps at my core2duo in 3ghz, GTX285 and 4 GB of DDR2 ram. With settigs at high detail/texture medium else in 1920x1200.

I wouldn't compare RTS games to FPS games, they have different techniques when it comes to optimization.

I do feel like something is wrong tho, looking at the logs it seems like the game cannot detect total video ram.

23:44:22.77 SPDx11 -- 3072MB dedicated video memory, I have 6k.

The game is probably capped at 3072MB vid memory. This whole benchmarking thing is just nonsense. I run the game with the highest settings @1080p and my FPS never goes below 40 (And that is only in the lategame wih endless explosions and blizzards).

Impossible, my i5 4670K + GTX670 rig can run at 50 FPS with slight OC
without OC 45 FPS

Well - do you have ALL maxed out? with AA etc etc? just check out the benchmark link and see for yourself.

It is well known that coh2 is 1. Horribly optimized and 2. runs completely different on different machines for no apparent reason.

Also, these benchmarks aren't new or anything, I remember when they first came out.

I am stuck at 20+-5 fps regardless if I use low AA or High AA. So I use high of course;). Everything else is maxed.

edit: I followed a link in the comments to the attached article and found a tip. By turning of the "replay" recordning during a game I am now running at 35-40 fps (AA low)

Yeah, not sure what happened to CoH2 but the performance is definitely worse than it should be. Probably has to do with it being rushed at THQ. Not sure why this is controversial to some here, the game doesn't even have SLI support which is a telltale sign that they didn't have enough time to work on the backend.

Hopefully Relic can better optimize their next game.

how many fps?? maybe 15 fps is flawless for you?? If the titan runs at max settings and only scores 40+ fps.... then I doubt that you can this game on MAX settings and achieve better than that.

A RTS like this should be at LEAST 60 fps with a 1000 euros card. AS I have said before - or does coh2 justify the fps that you can get?? Is it THAT good and THAT stunning that what you get is what you get as the game is so AWSOME?
