Cap number of snipers?

I was just watching the SNF warm-up broadcast from last week and got kind of nauseous from the amount of sniper spam. I have a modest proposal: limit the number of snipers that a player can have on the field at a time to two.

What do other people on the forum think?

I also humbly propose this "only two snipers at a time" limit to apply to COH1, in the extremely unlikely event that that game ever gets another balance patch.

I categorically disagree with unit caps.
Force composition is mediated by cost.

If a unit is proving problematic in spam, then it indicates tier/cost/stat imbalance.

Unit caps restrict diversity of builds and are therefore bad.

Disagree because SSSSS is very fun to watch in replay and steam
Agree because SSSSS is very lame and irritating to play against

Negative zeal which was proposed for vCoH is the way to go imo (they get weaker the more you blob them basically).

There are no caps on tigers/IS-2s so I don't think Relic is looking at unit caps at all.

Are you really having problems with people who mass snipers? The capping power lost alone should make things a problem for anyone who does that. If they have the manpower to mass snipers like that AND cap the map then you are already somehow behind.

Massing snipers is usually a hilarious, but generally bad idea.

And this is what typically happens to me when I get 2+ snipers. It's funny when it works, but most of the time it doesn't. And when it works, I'd probably have won the game just as easily without the snipers.

snipers die really easily in coh2, haven't had a problem thus far
