Hey
Can someone teach me the mechanics behind the panzerfaust/AT-nade regarding engine damage?
Because I have noticed how a sherman for instance can take a faust but no engine damage occurs even if the faust does damage

An AT snare will cause engine damage on two conditions:
1. The snare penetrates (it can bounce or far more rarely, miss)
2. The vehicle has lost 25% of it's health prior to the snare, or the snare damage (usually 100) crosses the vehicles health threshold to 75% or less remaining.

Lol Wtf my post was eaten.
Above is correct but the snare must drop the unit below 75%. Exactly 25% damage, which for a sherman is 160 damage, won't trigger the critical I believe.
Faust are 100 damage. Vet 4 volks deal 160 with their fausts. At nades for soviets, pfusis, and rifles are 80 damage. Satchels I think are 240.

Wutface. You should correct that post.
Gren Faust: 100dmg/45d on deflect 150pen 30 range
Volks: 100d/80d 140pen 20range (vet4 +20% sight range, +15% accuracy)
PF nade: 100d/80d 100pen 30 range
Falls: IIRC they use gren faust
Con AT nade: 100dmg/80d 100pen 20range(the assault nade i think does the old 80dmg)
Rifle AT nade: 100d/80d 30range 100pen

Random question - does the snare have to penetrate in order to cause engine damage? (IE if a tank is already below 75% then it still snares as long as it connects) I feel like snares don't fail all that often for only having 100 pen in most cases.

Of course I'm away from my computer for a few days and don't have official numbers to look at.
Just invisible it already. I'll be able to verify next week.
Point was snares aren't all the same and volks fausts change with vet.

General rule of thumb, snares will engine damage light vehicles outright and require one hit from hard-AT for mediums and most heavies.
