Looking at the Profiles, its clear that they are friends and judging by the way they played and used the synergies to their advantage (Jagdtiger with repairstations, Blobing Panzerfusiliers and Penal and so on) they are doing this all the time.

Its been around for ages. They tried to fix it and failed and I can't imagine it ever being fixed with the skeleton crew on the game now.
