Gentleman, the Moonlight East vs West tournament is back. Last year was an outstanding success with 4,000 concurrent viewers making it the most watched event in COH2 history, WOW!

This year more teams will be allowed to register.

This tournament is hosted by the Chinese coh2 community and due to the great firewall, you will need to register your teams here. Once teams are reviewed, the teams that make the cut will be given notification if they will be able to participate in this event.

Moonlight Cup Tournament Rules and Regulations

Section A Tournament setting
General setting
• 4v4 custom game
• Random starting location
• victory condition: victory point 500
• No mod
• Overall victory condition: Best of 3 (2/3)

Map Pool

7 official 4v4 map: Essen Steel Works, Port of Hamburg, Lorch Assault, Linne Forest, Steppes, Hill 400, General Mud.

Team elimination system

If the number of team enrolled is more than 32, then selection criteria will be based on the official ranking, explained as below:
Teams who wish to enroll need play at least 10 4v4 games to get an official team rank. If a team only has rank for one faction (allies or axis), then the faction rank that team doesn’t have will be calculated as rank that team has + 100. (Eg, a team who only has axis rank as 60, with no allies rank, then this team’s allies rank = 60+100 = 160)
Team’s enrol rank = team’s axis rank + team’s allies rank. The smaller number of a team’s enroll rank, the better chance it got.
If there are still vacancies, the tournament c ommittee will choose team among those who don’t have team rank but have better individual 4v4 rank.

Team enrolled

A team can have up to 5 members, including one team leader. Only teams with at least 4 members can enroll, one Substitutes is allowed. The maximum number of teams is 32, order given by email.
You can enroll within only one team, not two at the same time.

Enrollment: Please register your in-game name, steam 64 ID and team name

Section B game rules
1. Team 1 has the priority to choose faction and ban 2 maps, and then team 2 can choose maps. The second game will be the other way around. If the result of the first two games are ties, then the team who has larger victory points combined in the previous games (VP only count in victory case) can choose faction and ban 2 maps while the other team can choose maps.
2. The winner team will have to upload all the game recording to the game committee or email in time, if fail to do so, the opposite team will have the right to choose faction and map in the next upcoming match. The recording of the game should be named as : date+team+game number (eg: 2070825SOTvsAEG g1)
3. If there is lost connection or texture error within the first 3 minutes of the game , a re-match can be arranged after notifying the judge and opponent team. The re-match will have the same respawn location and commanders as the canceled one. The game will continue as usual if lost connection happens after 3 minutes. Re-match can be arranged for special consideration like server crushes.
4. Insulting language is forbidden in the game, can be reported to the committee, and committee will give corresponding punishment according to the case (including but not limiting to: warning, disqualification and cancelling reward)
5. Any measure that may interfere the course of game, such as all drop or plug-in software, is strictly prohibited, you will be disqualified if found.

Going to be a lot like last year.

Early stages will be against teams within your timezone. (Obviously dependent on the location and amount of teams registered)

Semi-finals/finals will have to agree upon a time, there is no easy way around this (as you know).

He meant the finals are cast at 8pm Bejing time.

Earlier stages will attempt to have teams in local time zones.

Later stages you can set up a time that works for both teams and the finals will be cast at 8pm Bejing time, the cast does not have to be live if the teams cannot arrange to play at that time.

You could ask the Admins if they want to make this cup in FBP.

I mean when you have to chance to see the new patches in 4vs4. So hard to finde 8 players with kind of the same skill :)

Brackets will be released tomorrow and you can start to plan when to play your game for the upcoming week. I recommend the weekend since this is an international event.

Bracket release:

Setting up your match:

Please add on steam Irons (YLC Referee). He will be your point of contact for setting up your agreed match time and will also act as your translator.

Bracket Summary
Brackets are created with the purpose of having the initial rounds played against teams in your timezone (or close to it). The West teams all fall into the bottom bracket except -SOE- lite who are playing with Prime Elyn instead of Sturmpanther and Yope instead of Blackstorm. The top team from the West will face off in the finals vs the top team from the East. Good Luck.
