Hello everyone :)

Quick question: Do Tank Hunters come with some hidden abilities for their Boys AT rifles (similar to OST), where they one shot models below certain health or something different?

Just wondered, thank you for answer :)

The AT rifles do increased damage against infantry compared to the other weapons but fire much less slowly.

For example normal rifles (grenadier, conscripts) deal 16 damage, volks rifles deal 12 damage, close range weapons like shocks ppsh deal low damage but have big Rate of Fire.

The AT rifles anti-infantry damage is smaller than their anti-tank damage (80 DMG, much smaller if they don´t pen the tank)

Guards PTRS has 20 damage
Conscript PTRS has 33 damage but decreased accuraccy
Boys AT rifles should be the same as the guards rifles accurracy wise and should deal 33 damage.

I´m not completely sure, because the AT rifles damage was changed a lot in previous patches.

Actually, they do not snipe, they deal always the same damage. You just get the feeling of sniping under X health points, because model health is 80 HP (so 33 damage is a lot). But they always deal the same damage , no matter if a squad member has 80 HP or 40 HP.

On the other hand, there are some squads that sniper infantry models below X% of health.

Sniper always snipe
(there is death critical applied and he always kill a member [unless the squad is reatreating or in garrison, then sniper only has 50% chance of sniping])

Pathfinders (only those from airborne USA doc, not the IR pathfinders from recon doc) have 2 rifles per squad that snipe any model below 40% of health (below 32 HP), provided that they hit the model in a first place.

Jaegers light infantry (OKW Scavenger doc) have 1 rifle per squad, that sniper any model below 70% of health (56 HP), provided that it hits the model in a first place.

These rifles only snipe below X% of health, otherwise they deal normal damage, like other remaining rifles manned by other squad members.

Hope my post was helpful for you.
Ask me anything you want, I´ll try to help you as much as I can

Their hidden benefits are:
- 90 range(?) passive maphacks. Basically you don't have to do anything; just having a Tank Hunter reveals enemy tanks at no cost
- Longest-range AT snare. Allied snares have range 15, Axis snares have range 18 (but can't be thrown over obstacles). Tank hunter snares have range 20.

You need to absolutely make sure that the squad only fires from cover, though. Otherwise, the out-of-cover penalties are simply too big for the boys AT rifles.

Even though their rifles take a while to reload between shots, they have a pretty steep alpha damage, which is what you need when defending.
