Yes, unfortunately making two squads to lay a mine doesn't actually increase its speed for no reason. Better off just use one squad instead. Did you try testing whether a 1 man Rifle squad lays mines the same time as a full squad? Because that would be hilarious.

I have tested. laying speed are depend on number model but it seem like speed are limited at 5 models
