So, I tried to retrieve the stats for the recent 4v4 annihilation tourney. For me team games organized via battlefy are kind of tricky, and frankly this was a bit of an afterthought. Anyways, I found 33 games, I might have missed eight.

Brackets can be found here.

In terms of sides winning, it was as even as it gets. Out of the 33 games, 16 were won by axis. That said, the final, which was the only BO3 round in the tournament was 3:0 for axis.

The longest match was a slugfest between the "Butter on Bread" and "1st Ranger Battalion" which took a little over three hours on Sittard. Not surprisingly, this match saw also the player with the most damage: TickTackCZE with a little over 237k.

The second longest match - between "Just4Fun" and "The indescribable Elder" - was already "only" 1:26h and got cast by GG:

Apart from those, games rarely took longer than one hour. The average game length was 45 minutes, even including the 3h game.

In terms of maps we get this distribution:

In terms of team compositions we had:

Strange results, If allies were so bad OP. ;)

Thank for your work. I hope my clan, the next time will play.

IMO: patch is good. Help OWK versus early MGs.

Interesting, SiphonX. Thank you for the analysis. :)

While it is a comparative relief to see that the longest game only(?) took 3 hours, the average length is in reality no consolation. :D

It would be interesting to know if the losing teams in an average game of 45 minutes simply called a halt, or whether they were in truth, really annihilated. I suspect the former may be the reality.

I guess you are not overly serious, but if you check out the announcment thread there was some discussion on if the typical "allies OP" would hold up in annihilation mode.

The sample size obviously is really small, so no definite answer here. Also, the skill gap between opponents was probably pretty significant in the majority of matches, which would bias everything towards 50:50.

That said, the map choices are kind of interesting: Most rounds were Bo1. The rules were that the winner of coin toss picked faction, the other than picked the map. Now, the most picked map is Steppes and the second most picked map is Ettelbruck station. According to this, these are among the least balanced maps with Steppes favoring axis, while Ettelbruck favors allies (albeit in 3v3, it doesn't seem to be in the 4v4 pool).

If I were to hazard a guess how that came about, it would be that most coin toss winners picked allies, and then the losers picked Steppes to counter that. A few teams might have picked Axis, and similarly Ettelbruck was picked to counter that choice.

Nope, sorry. For that I'd need replays and there are almost none...
