I've notice alot of new players lately with 300 or less hours but play like the have been playing for years. Something I'm missing? I know I'm not a bad player and have almost 3000 hours. I almost want to call shenanigans going on. Anyone else experiencing this?

Well, there could be people smurfing. It's pretty easy; just make a new steam account and do family sharing.

I've thought about it, trying to see how my 1v1 ranks/ win % would change in one certain patch, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

There could be more people coming from coh1 (I played against Hulksmash sometime this year in coh2). The top 10 coh1 people shouldn't have any real issue w/ coh2 because the mechanics are so similar. It's just about being comfortable with the units and adjusting to build times and whatever.

Right now you can buy all 5 factions and all 3 ToW packs for $60 USD so that's a pretty good deal if you've been eyeing it for a while.

It could be smurfing, but there's also a lot more information these days: guides, videos, streams that people can read/watch to learn the meta quickly.

TBH 100 hours and paying attention to twitch players is really all you need to end up on top ~250-300 level.

If you're talking about any accounts with low games count and high W:L ration, these are all Bartons smurfs.

Still doing incomparably better in 1v1 then you though.
But you're right.
Its impossible for me to drop from ~100-200 rank to above 1k :snfPeter:

In the 5 last games i only got people like Sage, Havoc, then got rekt by a well known person called Wuff

1v1 is not that different, except for knowing the maps. If you know how to counter a faction, you know it in any game mode.

I have come across this as well, but when i have looked into it, it has often been people who have played A LOT of other games like dota and starcraft... makes sense that they would pick it up quickly.

Have had the same thoughts. Although 300 hours is still a good amount of time. But I've seen some pretty skilled one star players.
