Ostheer vs Guard Motor

What is the best tactic to fighting Guard Motor as Ostheer? I am having trouble on 90% of the maps, since they are badly designed.

What can you do against multiple maxims supported by a con into multiple guards, into fast T70 into heavy mortar into multiple T34-85s? There isn't much you can do against the powerful synergy of Guard motor it seems. Every medium tank Ostheer can field gets countered by multiple guards or a Su76. All heavies that Ostheer can field will get countered by guards supported by multiple T34-85s or even a Su85.

I have had some succes with a Prostwind 'rush' (Ostheer can't rush armor lol), but this backfires as a Su76 can be out by the time the Ostwind comes out. This Su76 is then of course supported by multpile maxims, a con and multiple guards and a heavy mortar. The Su76 doesn't really delay the T34-85s, since maxims supported by the things previoulsy mentioned will grant you map control.

So, what can you do?

Cheese have to be rekt by cheese.

Go normal start 3 grens and mg 42

Then quickly rush 2 * 222 (also refered as 444) to kill maxims and kite/bleed guards. It does not mind if they hit you unless they kill your 222s because youre bleeeding him and he only force your pios to repair while capping.

Then get panzergren and keep him in green cover or house if you spot guards, they outDPS them if well supported and once you see bad maxim position you can always flank it and possibly kill it by good timed bundle nade.


Get some tellers, lmg42 and other munition stuff in process, dont forget sweeper or even secon pio with flamer if it is urban map and maxim are in houses. Also mortar may be good.

You can ignore t70 as long as you keep your 444 alive because They outDPS t70 and one 222 have same amound of health as t70. And he will rish it into your army at some time, then just faust it and kill it with 444 while your mg 42 keep guards at bay, otherwise go only to trades, dont go behind his line to kill it.

Now come doctrine, get armor assault (or what is it name, commonly known as assgren commader) and buy 2 STUGe. Once again keep them behind your grens and try to bleed those maxims and guards when they charge, also get pak if enemy is fielding more armor.


Lategame you call in tiger an start to creep forward, just rember always play conservativly and wait for him to make mistake. T34/85 horde is useless because 2 stugs e and pak can use TWP to either jam its turret or stun it. Then all you have to do is faust it and kill them with tiger, pak and pgrens with schreks.

And Always rember to PUSH once he makes mistake, but don´t be to agressive cause he can punish you rather easily and death of any of your vehicles early on may result into losing more map and not having fuel for tiger.

120 mm mortar is just normal russian mortar with bigger range litlle bigger AOE and epic animation, Ost turbomortar will still rekt him any day

and still you can always reposition your mgs after fight, you dont have to sit idle, just dont overextend or rush
