Why so many German Mortars Lately?

Rarely saw them before now it's every game and quite a few of them. Why?

They got buffed. Faster firing and now four man squad up from 3.

Whenever something gets buffed in a patch people start using it more, regardless of whether it is much better or not.

Ah I see. So do Russians have decent mortars as well? The German mortars are more an annoyance than game changer I'm finding though.

I'm not so sure about faster firing, but maxim spam over the past month tended to encourage this.

They got a buff to their auto attack speed and a fourth crew member that makes it actually able to survive for more than one minute.
Plus the Soviet mortars are firing a bit slower now. And the M3 had its MG damage decreased.

Overall, this means that you can retreat your mortar much easier now and even when you lose 2 crew members to an enemy mortar shell you can still get out of there.
Before that, getting a mortar often wasn't worth it as much. However, I think the new viability is mainly because of the increased survivability.

No, not a troll thread, my post history will show that. And I never played against a 120mm mortar as I've never played the Germans once in this game online plus never used the 120 mortar. Probably will try the Germans soon though as getting bored of playing Soviets now, think I experienced all I can with them.

I think that is not the case, if you haven't even used one of their best call-in units
