Hey people :)
I'm starting to develop maps myself and I could use a person to ask questions regarding the world builder. Anyone up for it?

Hey you should check out Trics twitch if you cant find a mentor, he makes maps in his casts and will answer any questions, I think he has been map making for 9 years since Coh1 so he is pretty knowledgable.

Yah man, just come hang out in the stream and I can help you with pretty much everything. I just started a new map from scratch. So hopefully while you are in here I can show you all the stuff that can be done in the worldbuilder.

this is for you to just keep it back of your brainium if you want to make a competitive map. if you want to make a specific type of map that does not fit the criteria, fill free to ignore:

this is for later when you want to make a tactical map, if you have adobe PS.

this thread is where i asked a lot of questions to the community when i first started map making. you should look through and see if anything i asked also apply to you.

the community was there for me when i started from scratch. so ill be here if you want to ask more question.

one pointer though. you should use TILES the last - it is the one where you paint in textures. if you overlay more than 8, you get nasty black spots you can only delete by deleting whole tile(s).

try to populate with textures from splines and splats. you'd be amazed how good and "normal" a map looks with only one default tile and proper use of splats and splines.

AND take advantage of "atmosphere setting". when you are making maps, you probably want to turn off "fog". then your map might look bland and monotone. but with good atmosphere setting (which you can tinkle with fog levels), your map can look much better.
