It worked out for coh1, the so called Ammo hill was great fighting Area and the mid of course too. But let's say the one team has to cache up to get nearly the fuel income of the other team, they build more cashes aswell and are way far ahead again.
What works for map design in CoH1 does not work out for CoH2 in any way.
No strat points, no variance between points, points give both muni and fuel.
As such, you either have equal, uncontested resources and slug it out for VPs, or a winner-take-all situation.

Well thats what my post was supposed to clarify, map is horrible designed unfortunatly
