There's a bug where you can't get an unit out of a house. Not sure if happens only with MGs or other units as well, but to me it happened with an MG.
Someone can probably confirm this?

Happens with HMGs, if the weapon is setting up and you issue a exit of the building they get stuck and the command is lost until the set up. Even sometimes after they set up, the unit may not even fire unless issued another order to attack and oftentimes have a hard time simply packing up if under fire in a building.

I've encountered this too with the HMG42. The "exit" + left-click on the ground command doesn't work but I think the right-click (regular move) command does.
