Java jre_1.8.0_66 exe failure during mod building?

In rebuilding a personal skirmish mod from scratch, I've been trying to create a mortar unit
for the british separate from the emplacement. Cloning and renaming the US 60mm mortar as a
"2_inch_mortar" has worked before (with recent updates to the tools, I don't know if that can be
done anymore, though). What I did differently this time was incorporate a custom build menu
icon (with ModIcons_modid_icon name), plus hopefully use the animator from the 3 inch mortar rather than the default german one.

I don't know what dimensions the icons have to be, but whenever I try to build, I get the error
in the title plus exit code 3 (which I know doesn't mean anything specific). I've reinstalled Java 32 & 64 bit a couple of times, cleaning the registry in-between plus verifying the integrity
of/reinstalling the tools themselves. I don't know if I have to enable the java executable somehow (in the control panel, it says my runtime environment is through javaw.exe) or if there
is something on my computer interfering.

Sorry if that's a little too much information, just wonder if anyone else has had this problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Icons need to be .png. Other than that, hard to say without seeing the exact error log from the Mod Builder.

Did you set up Flex SDK?

Yes, it is a png, & I downloaded SDK back in August.

Is there anywhere else I should look for the error log? A few minutes ago I tried to build again
to no avail & tried to copy & paste the message, but no luck.

Make sure all the paths in Tools -> Options are correct (Game, Tool, Java, Flex).

Check the AttributeEditorXMLLogs in the Company of Heroes 2 Tools folder. You might have an error like:

Which means your files have long names or they sit in a really long path. So, shorten the names of your files or your file path.

Sometimes modding is all about troubleshooting. Try removing stuff until it builds.
