When i started up a game today i noticed that my graphics settings to low and the game did not shut down. When i mean shut down my computer literally just switches off with no warning almost like a power cut. I backed out the game set my graphics to their highest and played a 2v2. 20 mins into the game my computer flat out just shut off and did this twice in a row.

This has never happened with coh 2 or any game

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Did you test running other games to see if you PC shuts down? If not Please do that before declaring it as a CoH2 issue. :)

Have you watched your internal temps? If it is around the 20min mark with multiple games you could be experiencing some overheating.

Furthermore, multiple games with same results points to a hardware/temperature issue more so than a game specific issue. Hope this helps point you in the right direction. :)

well wt i can say its you got a virus for sure because it happened to me but not on coh2 it was on btf3 and was a dam map i download it you need to check all the games files or just erase completely from you pc all games saves all of it and reinstall the game again !!
it happens just reinstall you game and make sure you erase all the coh2 files if the problem persist should be your graphics card it's just overheating and you pc temperature shots down automatic so increase your pc temperature just be careful to not burn down you pc

if it shuts down it should be done maintenance open pc and slowly remove the graphical and give mass
for lack of maintenance then it should warm up very quickly as the game
withdrawest graphical do not brute force to not damage
do not forget to first clean the old grease following are the new mass
so you do maintenance and pc runs cooler and fast
but I suggest you to take the PC to a specialist for maintenance of software and fan
and give new mass

well good luck english its not my strong language ^^ soryy man !!

I had this happen to me about 6 months ago. For me it was a psu issue that happened on coh2, and rarely in a few other games. Upgrading to a better psu with a less crappy rating fixed it perfectly.

Your power supply may have a problem providing the power your processor and graphics card needs to run the game. How many watts is your PSU?

Depends on how stressful the other games are for your hardware.

If your computer does a hard reset / shutdown, then it's mostly some driver or hardware issue - due your description i'd say it's the latter.

You should still look into this issue. For now you just patched it up basically.

I had the same problem with CoH2, and not with other games. Turned out my VGA was done after 3 years of honorable service. Interesting thing is, I was able to play other games for a couple of weeks before I changed it. Seems CoH2 is more resource heavy than we think. Much more.

Monitor the temperature while playing if you have two monitors.

Sounds like something in your computer is overheating.

also clean out your heat sinks and radiators. you should be able to take the shroud off your card without voiding your warranty to expose the heat sink.

No, you just need a stable and adequate power supply for your components.

Please elaborate on your issue. Might be a completely different reason for you.
