I have a really bad spec PC (pretty sure above coh2 recommended min spec) and since i have no money to upgrade my pc was wondering if there are any additional tricks to help the game run smoothly? I run coh2 on minimum settings and it suffers from low frames per second, regular temporary freezes, my max game size is 2v2 as 3v3 the game gets unplayable with my pc lagging behind.

I have tried disabling writing of replays, should i have v-sync on or off?.

Would it help if relic optimized their game better?

not got access to pc just now but I will post my pc specs when I am back to my pc

put everything off/ low in video options.

vsync off

Install this SweetFX in ur coh2 folder.

Now you have everything on low but game looks like on high

Disable replays,

and disable menu background.

I have tried dropping settings down to NOTHING. It makes NO difference at all.
Example. Ran self test after Auto Detect.
Settings

1600x900
Medium
AA off
Vsync on
Textures High
Snow Medium
Physics High

Score
Minimum Framerate: 3.96
Maximum Framerate: 31.97
Avg : 18.43

Changed settings manually to:
1024x768
minimum
AA Off
Vsync Off
Textures LOW
Snow LOW
Physics OFF
( I call this stick figure mode)
Score:

Minimum Framerate : 1.04
Maximum Framerate : 29.88
Avg: 17.98

I went to the lowest settings I could and it still got WORSE!!! I do meet the requirements for CoH2 . It did not do this when I first got the game. RELIC NEEDS TO FIX THIS!

Disabling replays like Wakeupta said gives you a huge fps boost.

Disabled replays.
New run with Auto Detect settings:
Min : 1.76
Max : 34.05
AVG : 19.81

Like I said, nothing I do can change the framerate I'm getting.
We really shouldn't have to do any of this anyway. Relic should fix it. Auto Detect is telling me what my settings should be to play the game well but it doesn't. So that's on them. Unless all of the people having these problems have some similar hardware or something. idk. but it's very frustrating and like I said, when I first got the game this didn't happen (when it first came out before all the expansions).
