Before you start your download, create a copy of your "company of heroes 2" folder in steam/steamapps/common/(game folders). Rename the copy folder "company of heroes 2 - copy" to "Company of heroes 2 - Press" and it will speed up your download by only fetching the british files needed for the download! Hope this helps speed things up!!!

For players who have lots of DLC content (like ardennes assault) steam may reject their installations and start from scratch. To prevent this, instead of the above instructions, you can make a "company of heroes 2 - Press" file in steamapps/common/ and put a copy of your "company of heroes 2/CoH2" folder which has Archives,Locale,Movies inside of it. This won't let you copy the whole game, but will give you a significant boost.

I bought vCoH on January 3rd, 2007.
Still missing the days of vCoH 1.71. It had it's issues, like paks sniping 57s, and the strafe didn't work, but overall, it was probably the most balanced time in CoH history.

OF ruined that. CoH 2 is....balanced in a nasty way. Everyone has an equal stockpile of gamebreaking bullshit. USA is full of early game BS while the OKW doesn't get its BS until late game. It's just a question of how badly you exploit the faction's shit and how quickly, after a patch, you discover the gaping holes of bullshit Relic leaves. But either way, it's all BS. The only "BS" in vCoH that was gamechanging was the fast m8 vs a bunker.

Thanks, but the funny thing is mine didn't even download it. I think because I haven't removed Alpha content. Every time I start the free trial, it check integrity of the game for like 10 minutes, then the game starts. So basically, I didn't download anything and played the game!

I also assume limited trial copies can't play against people who are playing the "regular" game, ontop of the fact that just for a couple of gigs of data they make you reinstall everything.

Seriously, how incompetent relic can get?

Was it so hard to unlock the brits for everyone for 3 days or so without splitting the already 4 players that play this game?
