i am really struggling as OKW when facing USF in 1v1.

my current build

luftwaffe

volks x4
medic hq
mg34
volks x2
flak hq
luch
panzer 4

obviously i make adjustments according to how the match is going. any tips ?

i was thinking of changing to

luchs
panzer 4

I feel like that is too many volks. You should consider going breakthrough doctrine and getting Pfusiliers out instead. They wreck rifles at every range when upgraded, and have solid DPS without upgrades.

I would say 3-4 volks + 2-3 pfus would be a good amount if you want to go infantry heavy.

Mix in a Strumpio or two. They have insane damage and melt infantry at close range. They synergize well with an early Kubal (suppress and then close in with Strums + repair Kubal after). Key is to flank and ambush with them and never just charge over open ground. Don't underestimate the LeIG either, I always build one and the random suppression procs really helps you win encounters. Versus USF you never want to try to brute force Unvetted Volks vs. Rifleman because they are at a disadvantage most times.

I like Breakthrough and Scavenge commanders personally (or Fortifications in some circumstances like narrow maps). 1 or 2 JLI can make a big difference with their model sniping.

EDIT Current USF meta is to rush a Stuart so tossing in a cloaked Raken to anticipate that can help too. I only get a Luchs if I'm ahead in fuel and/or he has little or no AT and I know and I run rampant for a while. Otherwise it might be safer to just wait for a PZ4

I say get a second SP early as two SP will let kubel more active than only have 1 SP and it can make kubel + SP combo works more often, also since you getting medic building i will say a field gun could help as volks don't stand a chance vs rifles, but field gun can suppress the USF infantry so dont use field gun as mortar instead as a indirect fire HMG... (hmm pretty much same as EtherealDragon said)

luch is a bad choice, i rather save for a early stuka or p4 but since you use med HQ, get a JP early as a mobile AT, I personally like go mech first instead of Med. also since you getting Luftwaffe, two HMG 34 cover each other is great choice if they are blobing, which 80% of USF do most time.

I say Breakthrough or Scavenge even fortification works better against USF (if he didn't go for priest commander) than Luftwaffe, Luftwaffe works better against SU.

Here's my very non toxic build, I like to do it to every non soviet player.

volks 4-5x
medic thingy
3x MG
(mid game)
Retreat point or 2-5 Racketten

Skip tech, GO BASE FISTING

Works about 50% of the time lol but is good if u want a All in strategy
