Hey guys, quick question. I recently bought COH 2 on Steam and when I try to pick a resolution, the highest it goes is 1920x1080. It doesn't even have 2560x1440 as a option even though that's my native resolution and I play all my games in that resolution, including COH 1. Has anyone encountered this before or know how I can get the game to recognize 2560x1440?
I've tried changing the values in the system config file but then my screen just looks weird and squashed, with the resolution drop down menu being blank. I have the latest drivers. I'm using an ATI Radeon 7900 series card. My monitor is an ASUS PB278 and again, my native resolution is 2560x1440. Thanks for any help.

Works fine for me @ 1440p (have even ran it at 3200 x 1800 as well) on an R9 290X.

The latest from ATI, version 15.200.1062.0. Just did it today.
The problem is the game won't even let me select anything higher than 1920x1080. Never had that happen in a game before. Like I said even COH 1, which is an older game, lets me select 2560x1440.

That doesn't sound right. I'm on Nvidia and I can upscale the resolution with no issue as long as you have the settings adjusted for a resolution above 1920x1080. Does it only happen in CoH2?

Yeah, COH 2 is the only game where I've encountered this issue. I tried changing the resolution in the system config lua file to 2560x1440 but when I launch the game there's 2 thick black bars on the top and bottom of the screen as if the game's only using that much of the screen and it makes the game look squashed.

Tried repairing coh2 from steam? Also try deleting the config file completely and relaunch the game.

Just verified cache through Steam and deleted the config. Gonna try a reinstall now. Thanks for the help. It would hurt me to have to play this game in 1920x1080. First world problems I know.

I think the issue is that you're running the game in windowed mode. Run it in full screen and you should see all resolutions that your gpu and screen support.
In window mode upscaling didn't work for me either.

If you are running on a 1080p screen and using VSR to run higher resolutions, this won't work in Windowed mode (I think - I cant see 3200 x 1800 in Windowed)

I use 2560 x 1600 without any problems.
Don't run in windowed mode. It lowers your FPS as well.

I don't think I'm running in windowed mode. In the config file, windowed mode has a value o "0". Unless the game defaults to windowed mode on install, I should be in full screen.

Ok, after a ton of reading I finally got it to work. I actually put it in full windowed mode, manually changed the resolution to 2560x1440 in the config file and that got it to work.
Getting avg 40 fps everything on max except for low AA. Looks great, definitely better than COH 1.

KoRneY: @aerafield It's possible that it is underpriced for what it is capable of now, no need to go full retard and take it immediately as a massive problem. It costs 60 more MP than a pz.3 and in 2v2 the barrage can be quite strong.
