(MB) Why does the base look like that?
(USFB) It's the new look
(MB) It totally deviates from the other looks of the game

In my head the USF base is secretly a UFO that's going to randomly come out of the ground Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull style.

That being said, it would indeed be a very nice quality of life change. The extra time running back to base to pick up weapons is bad enough without having to circle around to the back of the base as well. Can make a difference with capping or responding to threats depending on how much you are being pressured.

Oh and spoilers on the Indiana Jones ending I guess.

The USF base looks the way it does so it makes you 'feel' like you're ready for action.

I usually chalk that feeling up with the fact that I start with a Rear Echelon squad that can do absolutely nothing in the base it started, much like Sturmpioneers.

I like the USF base BUT the weapon rack positioning sucks. It should always be facing the front. I would like it even more if you could just upgrade the weapons on USF infantry.

An easy fix for this would be giving RE's an option to build only in close proximity of the base a Weapons Rack.

i believe the brits have something similar that you mentioned called a forward assembly area where you can buy weapons away from your base as well as reinforce your depleted infantry units
