Completion of fixing the Soviets

Now that we have pretty good teching in the Soviet army, while there are some issues with early vehicles rush, I think most could agree that Soviet late game has been fixed due to having T-34s, Katyushas and, most importantly, SU-85s in the last tier. At least I haven't had problems with fighting the cats.

The Soviets are not completely fixed though, as they lack scalable infantry that could fight LMG blobs. Last brainstorm ended with many ideas of fixing cons by giving them PPShes and such.

It seems like Soviet non-doc elite infantry is unattainable and an upgrade to cons is mandatory, but is it? The T1 doesn't have any AT, so building it without T2 is problematic. Wouldn't we call it a metaphorical upgrade to HQ then? Excluding sniper teams, T1 gives just more options to early game.

By making penals more expensive, buffing them overally and making their vet extremely good while not giving them any AT options, as in their description, they could obtain the 'stock elite' role, and Soviet players could choose between spamming cons and going T2 for support and getting better inf later, or going straight to T1 for them and getting some AT later.

You can't really say the penals are very usable at this moment.

Both of the soviet mortars need some buffs, the 82mm is pretty good, the 120mm is just bad.


T-34/76 still needs something, either reduced popcap or faster firing rate.

Penals could get some redesign to become well scaling infantry or something. Thats about it tbh.

Then of course is all the trash doctrinal stuff, con PPSH, irregurals, partisans.
