Hey there,
right now im trying to get my head around modding coh2 for the first time. I tried to create a Mod for the Ingame Ui, since all files are accessible I figured modifying and repacking them and after that replacing the respective archive (f.e. UIHigh) would be enough. But it wasnt, the game just bugsplatted. I tried to build the mod as Propertyblabla and something else, neither worked.
Do you think its possible to create the archive in a way that will make this stuff work? I guess the UI uses a slightly different format of the archives or validates them somehow.

You have to use the Attribute Editor or SCAR, you cannot simply modify files, repackage them, and use them in-game.
There were some UI-specific functions added to SCAR, which allow for custom UI. If you are familiar with Lua, that is your only option.
