So what about new strategies?

Hello guys.

As I have seen the following image in the trending section, I want to talk about new strategies with the new patch.



I haven't played the game myself in the newest patch state and I probably won't until end September but I still would like to hear your impressions.

Has the Guard Motor meta changed? Is there a new variety of strategies or is a M5 rush (I read that somewhere) the new meta?

What new strategies have you tried? Did they work?

-All the ML-20 commanders (even the irregulars one) are p good, especially the ones with guards.

-Having stuka bombing strike or LeFH to do counter battery fire (don't use counter barrage it's shit and you can't control it) is now mandatory for Ostheer

-As OKW and Ostheer getting an AT gun as early as possible is a must versus Soviets, was already a must versus Americans.

-OKW has very little reason to get any tank bigger than a PIV, JPIV out preforms the Panther in AT role by a light year. If you want AT just pay the 175 fuel for a medi-truck and a JPIV.

-T34/85's are quite easy to get in numbers, also easy to keep around.

-M5 can kill light vehicles incredibly easily, so you need something that's proof to bullets to actually kill it.

-Lend Lease is extremely good. Counterattack Tactics is a lot better now to because the KV1 has a long like time before heavy AT hits the field.

-Getting another sturmpioneer in the opening minutes of the game can really help deal with allied infantry in CQC, especially now that everyone just spams con's and maxims into M5's.

-No seriously the OKW PIV is the most efficient OKW tank by a light year, there is literally zero reason to ever get a KT when two PIV's will do much better and are much easier to keep alive.

-Command PIV is extremely good, helps deal with arty spammers and helps make pushes as Ostheer a lot easier in the late game were Ostheer squads are really fragile.

-T34/76's are still useless at 80 fuel, just a nice way to feed veterancy to your enemy. Your much better off spending the 80 fuel on something else.

just my first impressions.

I try rushing a puma as okw if I feel they were going for early vehicle. It can shut down any non medium tank, and can deal well (with vet 1) with bigger tanks once they get there. Can also take down su76 with proper micro.

Risky if they don't given its mediocre AI, but it can be a huge blow if timed right against early vehicles

Edit: on top of the pumas I try going falls. Mg + volks early! into puma for vehicle and fall for surprise infantry it's for of a mobile, high dps but squishy army. Feels fun but falls oh it's face vs mass support play

I've been playing around with the new Elite Armour Doctrine for OKW, it seems pretty good.
I haven't been getting much use out of the Radar ability (detect vehicles on map), but the HEAT rounds are good to give your PIV's an edge in fights, the commanders give you some useful artillery and the new improved Sturmtiger is a beast.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to go, I'm thinking only build PIV's until you can get a Sturmtiger to save fuel, and depend on Raketenwerfers instead of Shrecks for AT early on. Save that Munitions for Officers/Artillery/HEAT and self repair, which comes in handy!

The new zero fuel IR Halftrack makes the Sturmtiger more deadly too, since you can spot targets and I believe the 45 range means it can hit enemies before they can see it. Just pick a juicy target (Clusters, weapon Teams, vehicles being repaired etc) and delete them from the Fog of War. Retreat to base and reload while self-repairing.
