Hello,

I've started making a custom vehicle skin mod, and so far it's going well. The tutorials available here helped a lot as the docs in modding.companyofheroes.com really don't explain much. But there is one specific thing for which I cannot find any good information - icons. How exactly do I create a custom icon for my skin mod? Step-by-step instructions with size and format specs would be ideal. Or if this is clearly explained somewhere, a pointer to that would be awesome.

Thanks.

Ok, got it now. So just for completeness in case anyone else has the same question, if you create a new skin pack with the Mod Builder and specify a path for the icons, then in that directory it expects the file "icon.png" which is 64x64.

Thanks.

It should create an icon.png when using the wizard, that you can then edit as you see fit.

Follow up question: can you make a single skin pack that contains both summer and winter skins and have it show two different icons to distinguish them when selecting them in the game? Or is it better to release the summer and winter skins as two separate packs? It doesn't appear to create the winter version automatically by adding the show and snowflake graphic.

Thanks.

Absolutely. Make two icons, and refer to them in skin_pack_bag.icon by ModIcons_<ModID>_<Name>

Where <ModID> and <Name> are your Mod's ID and the name you want to give to each icon. For example:

ModIcons_94e80b04a136401b963d3806d5b13ef4_flecktarn_summer
ModIcons_94e80b04a136401b963d3806d5b13ef4_flecktarn_winter

Where the actual icons are flecktarn_summer.png and flecktarn_winter.png in your Burn Icons folder.
