July 21 Update

This update will go live on July 21st at 10:00am PST
The primary focus of the July 21st update is to continue the design upgrade of the existing factions to improve the overall balance of all factions in preparation for the introduction of the British Forces. This is the second phase migration of changes seen in the British Forces Alpha.

The next update will be on Sept 3rd which will introduce the British Forces Content.


​ July 14 Balance Preview

As part of a new trial process this update includes a Balance Preview Tuning Pack that will be made available in the steam workshop (July 14th 10:00am PST). The tuning pack can be found in the Modding Hub or in the STEAM workshop after 10:00am PST on Jul 14th .
This tuning pack contains all of the planned balance changes listed below that will be made live on July 21st. We thought it would be interesting for players to try out the new changes in addition to discussing these patch notes. Please note changes not included in the tuning pack are listed in a section at the bottom of the notes.

Increase the number of viable strategies in the game
Make core tech tree units more desirable
Increase the viability of light vehicle combat.
Promote and Encourage Combined Arms
Reduce negative user-experiences in gameplay
Improve usability and remove unintended behavior from the game

Why no HMG42 damage nerf? And only 20mp cost increase? WTF. WTF. WTF.

ostruppen will make a comeback now and tiger ace is now dead .
what i really don't get however is what will usf do with they early game superiority they have/had, now that tech requirements for major have been increased.
imo they should have made the lt upgrade unlock bars with it for some fuel increase.
i hope this patch will improve the game

Good changes, expected, but nothing suprising (till ninjas makes their appearance).

This will really shake up the meta and will be a breath of fresh air for the game. I am really looking forward to play it.

I love the attention the howitzers received (hope they also fixed the ml-20 vet 3 bug where vet 2 cooldown bonus was lost).

The tech changes look amazing, really looking forward to heavier usage of soviet light vehicles, which in turn makes units like the OKW Puma more appealing.

Also really loving the near-complete removal of the call-in meta. Would have to see if doctrines like Mechanized assault and Shock Rifle tactics don't become the norm now since they still don't really require teching beyond T2.

Pack Howitzer buff seems a little bit much, the unit was already very deadly, 380mp feels low for it.

Overall very good stuff.

And why maxim and 50cal (hopefully DShK would be decent after patch) not doing their job? Because CoH2?

Also only blind cant see problem with hmg42 in building killing 2 maxims in building. I do not want suppression nerf, it as it should be, i want damage nerf, it too damn hight.

Maxim spam is going to make a come back in a big way against OKW now that the Maxim has AoE suppression.

Allied MG's greatest enemy is now dead (vet 2 rifle nade) and the maxim can deal AoE suppression on blobs while being able to pack up and move around to deal with blobs faster than MG42 can.

the su76 has great penetration and is a lot cheaper than the p4 - combined with anything else (zis / conscripts AT nade / 2nd SU76) it will easily win

Wow so basically, ML20 now fires the same shells as the crappy LefH, despite costing the same and having more KILLING POWER, bye bye 2xOKW, CAS will be needed 100%.

Sturmtiger only 45 range buff instead of 50, great +5 range will make such a difference...

And the so awaited Werfer change is only 20% more vet hahah typical patch XD

This is quite exciting! Looking forward to July 21st now! But 50.cal is quite effective now I'd argue, I almost always get it against OKW and even against Wehrmacht. It suppress blobs and units effectively with good damage. Almost for certain getting it with Rifle Grenade range nerf. Hope they reduce grenade range when suppressed however.

Have to see, too good to believe. Still HMG42 considering it now could be ordered from t0 not nerfed even close to enough. Make it 300 mp or better, as i sad, reduce damage.

Nope. They still have 25% received accuracy.

A bit afraid of sov tech changes, can kill this faction.


T3 being cheaper and faster with both t1 and t2 being cheaper kills the faction? What?

Conscript
We noticed an irregular value in the causality timer for conscripts which was exceedingly higher than all other infantry. We have brought the timer in line with other infantry causality timers.
Casualty timer brought down from 500 seconds to 30 seconds
