Use commanders. Thats how Relic designed Soviets, so make some Guards/shock troopers.

120 is still a beast, use smoke on shocks, guards can go toe to toe with grens. Also USE SANDBAGS I cannot say this enough, USE THE CONSCRIPT SAND BAG ABILITY.

They are amaaaaaaazing, stick some guards behind those things and you can hold off half the Wehrmacht :)!

Stock solutions:

Flank with upgraded Penals, and / or get some snipers.
Get some Maxims to supress. Let your infantry deal with the supressed stuff, or use stuff like mortars. Keep in mind: Zis has a fancy barrage, in case of blobbing.
T70 also works wonders, and let's not forget about the freshly buffed SU76 which also has a barrage, but even free!

Wan't to bleed them more? Try Katyushas, mines, and my alltime favorite: bait into demo charges.

Edit:
... Also USE SANDBAGS I cannot say this enough, USE THE CONSCRIPT SAND BAG ABILITY...

Indeed.

And then there's of course doctrinal ones...

Try double snipers with "Point and Click" bulletins (sight range and rate of fire). With at least two of these your snipers can spot for themselves. You won't have any problems with MG42 ever and can defeat grens with attrition (each sniped gren model = -30 MP)

If you've managed to decrew and capture MG42, better put it into some building protecting flank. Grenadiers will have hard time to take it out.

In order to deal easily with rushed 222 scout car pick Tank Hunter Tactics or any other commander with Guards.

Best way not to lose snipers to some vehicle rush is to plant early mines in zone where you will operate most of the time. Watch your step if wermacht player has built mortar.

If you play against blobber - plant demo charges and lure enemy blob onto them with your snipers. Luring into positions prepared with sandbags works well too, just watch out for those rifle grenades.

If you feel that you win in fuel race you may try to rush T-70 or just go straight to T-34 spam. Don't forget to support them with your snipers to take out those Pak-40s.

If things went bad and you feel that Ostwind or Pz.IV will come out soon, you'd better build T2 for AT guns and then stall for call-ins. Remember to put your AT guns behind front line, because your forces probably ain't sufficient to withstand heavy infantry push, because you've invested much MP into snipers.

This.

With the exception of the 120. Don't get that one, it is not worth it anymore in 1v1s.

The 120mm is almost he same as it used to be. They reduced the damage from 100 -> 80. All infantry models have 80 HP. All the change really did was make the 120 do less damage in its other AOEs, do less damage against structures, and lose precision strike.

120 is still just as good at wiping squads as it has ever been. In fact, its a lot easier to get now at 330 mp. Much better than the shitty soviet 82mm mortar.

No real answer to rifle nades. Its OP aiblity in 95% of the games.
The only way is to dodge with very fast reaction and close watching of enemy grens. If you get that you will be in top 500 1v1 for sure.

Why are you trying to counter grens that have a 60 muni upgrade with cons. Logic dictates you should loose.

^This.

All Ost infantry is extremely vulnerable to indirect fire. Even if you don't get significant kill counts you will damage their health thus making them less effective. On certain maps 1 or even 2 120's are a real annoyance.

A fast T70 or SU76 also do well.

Spamming mines also still work quite effectively, especially if you plant them near corners where grens bunch up.

It is so funny that Allies fanboys think 120 becomes trash while there is nothing change in its infantry killing power in-spite it is much cheaper.

1. If OSt is spamming lmg, then riflenades are going to be less prevalent.

2. If you fight at range then you deserve to get naded. Cons fight best at close range, which nullifies nades. Cons can easily oorah close to grens on many maps. Also build cover when ever possible and don't fight battles where you don't have numerical or positional advantage.

Sandbags, 120s, Guards, PTRS cons, double snipers bleed an OH gren blob to death.

Spam PTRS cons or guards, because maxim doesn't work, mortar isn't reliably and soviet blob control tools arrive no sooner then at 8cp.

Snipers are too expensive. Its too risky to rely upon them.

No chance of getting maxims working?

I am not building T34, no way, its just a waste of resources.

Normally maxim should counter inf, I dont know how is relic thinking.

Build sandbags? Are you guys joking? So much effort just to counter A-moving lmg grens.

BTW cons ppsh upgrade sucks. Their accuracy is nonsense. Cons with ppsh cant even finish off the last retreating model at point blank range.
