Are guards' DPs worth the muni?

I guess the title is self explanatory. I tend to spend the munis on the DPs, but don't really know if they're worth the ammo or if ammo is better expent in mines, demos, abilitys.

Would like to hear you opinion on the matter :)

LMGs are always good. And Button.

Button isn't what it used to be, but LMG Guards in defensive positions give most infantry an extremely bad day. If I can, I upgrade them, but then again I haven't tried the new PTRS yet.

Well, DPs help a bit.
Button is a waste of muni though.

Well, I like having the option of eating my paperweights too, but I'm still probably not going to have them for that purpose.

But yeah, the LMGs are still worth it just fine.

+1

OP
Button is situational, not OP as before, but useful.
Just have in mind that after 2 models die, there are huge chances that your Guards drop one of its weapons.

I didn't think Button was THAT bad now. It's pretty nerfed, but it still should allow that ZiS gun to get one more shot when the tank is low on health right? I feel like it's situational, like if they are near death try and use it like a ghetto snare ability so you can chase it down or keep it in range, otherwise it's not really worth it.

After how much it reduced speed and acceleration got reduced, there's just almost no realistic chance of it working for more than a few instants unless: 1. The Guards are magically like, right next to the vehicle. 2. The vehicle's already engine-damaged, likely making the use of Button then superfluous.

Not to mention as elchino7 said, you'll probably be dropping weapons as the Guards inevitably take fire while doing it which makes you more likely to just break it off yourself so you don't pass Axis your entire armoury.

Still better than Guards having like a 30 radius "Armour DOES NOT go here" I guess though...

I still wish Penal Battalions had the option for a DP package instead of only flamethrowers. I miss having a long(er) range stock unit as Soviets. An upgrade path for Penals with flamethowers and Satchels, or DPs and a suppression ability would've been great.

As far as the package goes on Guards, I find it to be worth it if you have spare munitions to spend on anti-infantry measures. It isn't worth it for Button though. If you're playing Guard Motor, Mark Target is a far superior use of munitions for handling Axis armor than button.

Put conscripts merge into your guard rifles this will give them the AT Nade options if you have it unlocked. DP is a must if you're going guards.

Yep. imo they are worth the cost. You get a good LMG and the ability to slow down enemy tanks/vehicles.

Not true, but you should still merge conscripts into Guard squads because it will save you manpower and reinforcement time.

Yeye, he was mistaken.
Anyways, DP is a must have upgrade. Guards are now the strongest inf in the game, and their long range potential should be exploited to the fullest.
