i like to see the doggie retreat speed after sniper dead and run back to base and come back with a new sniper

No the dog should not be able to retreat and should stand over its dead sniper howling in despair.

why would anybody feel sorry for the dude in the basebunker?

Yeah no feel bad for base man. He's not gonna die. Feel bad for Sniper, only man who fights and likely to die and is all alone. D:
As for the sticky subject of retreating: I was initially thinking the dog would just run off map, or it could run back and you could get a vetted up sniper for the same cost as another sniper squad or more, that'd probably be OP tho.
