If you select an Infantry and rightclick on a building it will light up white if its empty and red if its garrisoned. This also works in the FOW, so you are save if you want to check if this stupid maxim/MG42 is still in this building without the danger of your infantry get supressed.

While a non intended behaviour, this can save you when you want to deploy a unit from a building.
