Dealing with IR obers

Anyone know of a decent way to deal with the infrared obers with infantry? They just trash anything at all on 2 legs. Even with negative cover they beat lmg paras with vet and even MG's. Seems like scotts or Sherman HE is the only answer. If there is no fuel, then hit surrender.

I think IR STGs are a downgrade from the mg34. Handle them like sturmpioneers on steroids, LMGs should be good but para thompsons will lit them up.

In general the counter to obers is motor carriage, pack howitzers and tanks though. Anything that explodes.

Well, it you get a BAR, you lose a M1 garand. It's and upgrade in every way.
If you get 2x IR STG44, you lose an LMG34 and a ober-kar98. Not really an upgrade, more of a side-grade.

They ignore cover so it's really worth it.

They still have to walk into medium range though, compared to mg34 blobs sniping your squads you have room to kill them.

Deal with them the same way you deal with LMG Obers - Snipers, indirect fire, grenades/munitions expenditure, and tanks.

Hell you can even shoot/grenade obers like regular infantry if they're close enough, not that it'll necessarily be cost effective.

They don't fully ignore cover. Things like green cover give -X% received accuracy and -X% damage reduction. IR STG44s only ignore (or modify) the received accuracy. Damage reduction still applies.

Watch a few live games and pro replays. It's not about dealing with a specific unit, you just have to learn how to play and what to build where and when.

The majority of the USF doesn't get flame weapons, so might as well forget about that.

Rifle Flamers are big risk as they explode killing entire squad way too often.

So far 2 or 1 IR obers , supported by 3 Volks Shreck squad is hard to counter (im talking somewhere at 10 - 13 min mark),

ive had some success with using
A HMG next to FP manned by REs with a Para LMGs next to it in Tanktrap green cover and LT + RF to grenade flank. but again if the enemy has a IEG it seems to kill US HMG pretty quickly which is insane.

one thing i learned hard way is to not over extend when IR obers are around a single IR obers will squad wipe retreating RE squads.
