How to farm War Spoils

Bad news

relic have stated that they will increase enforcement against players that farm and that they advise to stop farming. i dont know whether this applies to the script, or manual farming or only users of the alpha, but i will contact them now.

i have taken down the links for now

Hi,

as we all now, the War Spoils System is bad and you need a big amount of time to get commanders, if you dont want to spend huge amounts of money. But with the help of some tools you can farm effectively while being at work, school university or whereever.

What the script does is play the game for you. It starts a game, waits for one hour (so dont be surprised if no units are moving). After the game has ended, it quits the match and starts a new one!

I got 7 WFA commanders with this, all the british ones, a lot of the soviet and wehrmacht ones, a ton of bulletins and skins,....

First of all you will need this mod:
Mod
and it belongs in:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes 2\mods\gamemode

Now you have to start COH2 in windowed mode:
1. Right-click on "Company of Heroes 2" under the Steam Library and select Properties
2. Select "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..."
3. Write "-window -forceactive" and then click "OK" followed by "CLOSE"

Then you will go to the options menu and change the resolution to 1024*768. This will hopefully decrease the power consumption of the system and ensure, that the skripts click at the right positions. This script does not work without it!
Close the game.

You can either go with the newest version of my "intelligent" script (automatic reconnection and other stuff):

Now start the game. It will (hopefully) be in windowed mode at the left top of your screen.
1. Open a custom game
2. Choose a 1v1 map of your choice
3. Choose Standart Ressources, Fixed positions, then go to win conditions and select "autovictory" and the gamelength you want and an easy AI as enemy
4. Start the skript. Some virusscanners might stop the .exe skripts, in this case you have to make the skript yourself with autohotkey and start the .ahk. You might also need to start it as administrator, if it doesnt work otherwise.
5. Enjoy!
The Skripts farms for 100 games, you can of course stop them before that.

I would generally advise you to go with 1 hour because you seem to get more bulletins this way.
Furthermore, the 1 hour skript needs much longer per game and therefore is not that prone to random Performance issues...

Another cool feature of the script: it should now work flawlessly with 4k monitors or windows 10, and the coh2 window doesnt have to be in the top left corner anymore. Furthermore, random popups during the game do not stop the script. Addtionally it does not cap any VP anymore.

If you experience any bugs, have questions or want some feature, just write here!

for those persons, where the intelligent script is not (yet) working:
option 1:
scriptwriter
download ahk, install it and then run this script once!
it will play one game for you and then write another script, which then should not have the problem anymore of stopping

option 2:
only do this, if 1 is not working. additionally post a message in this thread and i will try to improve the intelligent script so it works for you aswell

i decided to include the old basic script again:
1000VPold
you will need this map for that:
map
and it belongs in:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes 2\mods\scenarios

and you will need 1000vps with it

and last but not least just a short info for the guys that farm a lot:
if you pass the 1000 item limit, the inventory will bug out.

I like this!

I bought vCoH on January 3rd, 2007.
Still missing the days of vCoH 1.71. It had it's issues, like paks sniping 57s, and the strafe didn't work, but overall, it was probably the most balanced time in CoH history.

OF ruined that. CoH 2 is....balanced in a nasty way. Everyone has an equal stockpile of gamebreaking bullshit. USA is full of early game BS while the OKW doesn't get its BS until late game. It's just a question of how badly you exploit the faction's shit and how quickly, after a patch, you discover the gaping holes of bullshit Relic leaves. But either way, it's all BS. The only "BS" in vCoH that was gamechanging was the fast m8 vs a bunker.

To be honest there's not much they can do about this. Basically the script is just clicking screen automatically, it'd be impossible to detect whether the script is doing the clicking or a human.

For myself I don't think this is legit and the wrong way to convince Relic to change the WS-system... Just my two cents

i used a custom .ahk script before so i only loaded your uploaded ones and started the game. how can i see that the script works? im sure i can find a solution when i know how the result looks like

Confirmed working. Expect 30-60hrs of farming to unlock all commanders & some rare bulletins, etc.

I deem this script legit. War spoils merely reward time spent. They drop not according to player effort.

Sorry but this feels neither rewarding, nor fair. I am happy that I spent the few dozen hours it took me to farm all necessary items elswhere than sitting in front of my pc.

EDiT: All the script does is click the necessary buttons to keep the game going. If you think this is cheating, let me tell you this: The same works if you press the buttons yourself. You would just have to regularly turn on your pc monitor and use your mouse. No spooky magic, alteration of game files etc. is necessary. A cheat/hack/trainer would fiddle with the running process.

EDIT: Don't forget to remove the command -fullwindow or otherwise the click will miss the required buttons.

I'm just trying it right now with the 250VP script and it seems to work for now. I really thank you for this and the map is great too.

Sometimes I have no time to play trough the day or I'm too tired so I will leave the script running and do other things instead of farming the old fashioned way 4v4 with CPU.

why wouldn't this be legit, anything you can do offline with your own game is fine as it can never be controlled.
