I mean it's not really an opinion...

That's every single GR tournament finals since 2008 or so. I can't speak to any of the names before around 2009, but of the finalists listed there, the following were from North America:

Morello (Maybe? Can't remember for sure Probably not actually)
Gosu/Nosliw (2v2)
ntd (2v2)

That's 4 3 players out of approximately 33 different players who played in all GR tournament finals between 2009 and 2012. Of those 4 3 players, only ntd won a tournament. That's 12% 9% of the tournament finalists over 3 years. The other 88% 91% were mostly European and Russian, with two Koreans.

More recent results, from the last SNF season...

http://www.coh2.org/file/745/snf-s4-bracket-final.jpg

10 different players played in broadcasted games (semi-finals of a contender bout or higher). Of those 10, 9 were European for sure, and the last one, Twister, I'm not sure about is a filthy commie. Still, that's at most 10% 0% of the serious SNF Season 4 contenders coming from North America.

Elite Mod tournament, the last real CoH1 tournament. No North Americans in the top 8. Pretty sure there aren't any in the top 16 either, but I don't know all the names there.

So yeah, there's your facts. CoH has been a European-dominated game for at least the nearly 6 years that I've been around for.

No one knows for certain, but it is commonly admitted that I am from Europe.

Yeah.. it's still just your opinion.. Proving that the best have always come out of Europe would be tough.. Face it.. Now you could argue that the best "Tournament" players have always come out of Europe.. You obviously have statistics to back that up..

well if tournament wins are not an adequate measure of who the best players are, I certainly don't know what is.

I agree there are few high level American players but there are a bunch of Koreans at the top of the CoH2 ladder that are easy to overlook. They don't participate in any tournaments and have names that end up looking like dots in-game.

They play a mean game though.

Morello is from Europe for sure (Sweden or Norway I believe).

Meh, the ones you have to fear on RTS are the Koreans, not the Japanese.

It was 100% true in vCoH. Only really notable North American vCoH players I can think of off the top of my head were Marinez, nystrom, and Gosu. The rest were all Europeans and Russians, and eventually Koreans in the last few years of competitive play.

There were many more, just before your time. Mexico, Bentguru, Koda, Golradaer, GermanSupreme, ntd, tamiya and more that at the moment escape my mind. It was 8 years ago after all lol. I remember there was definitely more NA presence early in vCoH's life. Just because they didnt finish first place in every tourny doesnt mean they werent some of the best players of their time. Also just because you weren't a 2v2 player doesnt mean 2v2 wasnt extremely competitive. Many of those premier 1v1 players you remember got their shit stomped in 2v2 tournaments. The best of the best were good in both and that was a rare breed.
