I vote Marines. I feel the Soviets still somewhat lack a good non-doctrinal infantry.

I would like to see some kind of officer that provides bonus to nearby units.
They are testing a commander right now that has commissar units as a call in. All they need to do is tweak the other abilities in the commander and they should be good to go.

All you need is to add ISU-152 to that commander and it is good to go.

Size of the rockets.

In game Kat is much, much smaller than 300mm.

The sturmtiger is only a 380mm shell.

It's essentially a Russian Stuka Zu Fuss with 12 rails.

Funny thing is that the current SU-85 already is like a SU-100. It can penetrate Tigers and Panthers on a regular basis. They could just change the skins.

My vote is on Naval Infantry.
SU-100 would do to Panthers what the Jagdtiger does to T-34-85s. Funny at first but horribly OP. What does the German have as a hope for winning if all their heavies are smashed instantly?

Naval Infantry could be a long-range infantry unit upgradable with shortrange PPS's or something else. Would fit the faction, be an intresting unit, add something to meta and not mess up balance.

Tough I have to agree the idea of adding a Zampolit or Komsomol member as a person with somekind of aura intrigues me.

I didn't vote. There was no mention of bear themed units anywhere.

Why would it? Panthers could fire back and destroy it, doubtful with T-34s versus a JT. And why would a 100mm be allowed to do super damage while 75mm/L70 wouldn´t be?

Thing is: Its role is redundant if you think about it. Su-85s couldn´t go through heavier armor, yet they do ingame. Why a Su-100 then? Fix the units that are ingame. The biggest sin imo is that the T-34/85 isn´t available outside a doctrine, while it really should be the standard spam tank.

In order to get it as an upgraded Su-85, which is what it is, its range and DMG output would have to be increased comparative to the SU-85. and that would mess alot with the balance.

You are greatly exaggerating. The SU100 would probably perform like the Jackson or a little better. It would also suffer the same drawbacks as other non-turreted tanks. Obviously there will be balancing to fix things. Don't know why people assume that the state of the game would be the same if units are added.

While Naval Infantry/Marines would be cool, the faction will still suffer if they are not AT based. Soviets already lack heavier nondoc tanks. Their AT is lackluster unless you choose the right doctrine. This nullifies the viability of other Soviet commanders.

I also agree with Cardboard Tank that the absence of the T34/85 as a nondoc tank is inexcusable.

Because it is a game and it needs its tanks to be balanced...and SU-85 is already horrible compared to Jadgpanzer 4 which outclasses it in every aspect...
Oh and for your "realism" argument, check this:
"The SU-100 arrived in operational units in October 1944 and immediately became popular with Russian crews. It was able to defeat almost every German tank on the battlefield, only to be outmatched in 1945 by the King Tiger".

I have seen T-26 wrecks in the game.
Maybe that the developers thought about it before choosing the T-70.

The gun of the Su-85 and T-35-85 could pen the Tiger and the Panther (depending on angle) from the front. Su-100 were developed as a counter for the King Tiger, and Ferdi's.

But the current sovjet shells are heavily underperforming against armour, most notable the D-25T 122mm and the ML-20.

Except that the SU-85 can spot for itself, which is kinda the most important feature of a 60 range tank destroyer...

Did I say the SU-100 couldn´t do that? The thing is that it could be shot easily by the opponent also. Why give that thing more damage than other tanks? It´s not a super heavy vehicle like Elefants, ISU, and Jagdtiger.

For the Panther that would be point blank range to go through the frontal armor - if at all.

Who both couldn´t be defeated frontally by it. And there were like 90 Ferdinands/Elefants... pretty much no reson to develop a vehicle to counter a tank this rare. It was meant to be a counter versus Panthers and such as those proofed impervious on all but the closest ranges to the available 85mms.
